"Oh, I see! You run like a coward you filthy bitch!" A woman screamed, awakening Joey from her afternoon nap. She wasn't used to be woken up to chaos, but she was pretty sure she's never hard this woman's voice before. Most of the time Joey recognized all the people who came in and out of her house, for she had seen them numerous times growing up. But this, this was somebody new. Joey rolled out of bed, slowly peeking her door open to see Fiona being chased around the house by a woman holding a baseball bat.
"Who the fuck are you?" Joey shrieked, slamming open her door.
The woman shoved Joey back rather harshly, her body hitting the wooden floor. The younger blonde quickly caught herself and shot up, shoving the woman against the wall. She didn't know who she was or what her problem was other then the fact that nobody messed with her siblings.
"Fiona run!" Joey cried, the oldest Gallagher not even needing to be told twice before running down the stairs towards the back entrance. The woman punched Joey across the face causing the baby that was strapped to her chest to cry loudly. This time, Joey was too much out of breath to try and put a stop to whatever the hell was going on. So she laid on the ground, waiting for someone to notice her and help her up.
"Woah," Jakob gaped, his eyes blown wide at the sight of clothes thrown all over the floor and Joey holding her bleeding nose. "What the fuck happened here?"
"Fiona did some crazy shit and this bitch was chasing her throughout the house," Joey explained with an eye roll. "Now are you gonna help me up or what?"
Jakob rapidly nodded, bending down and gently pulling Joey up from the ground. Once the blonde was situated she looked around, letting out a loud groan at the mess Fiona and that other random woman made.
"Help me clean this?" Joey requested, to which Jakob nodded and began to pick up clothes. Joey was grateful that instead of throwing a tantrum and complaining about cleaning up someone's mess Jakob just did the task with no questions asked. It was one of the many things Joey liked about him.
Liked.
"Yo, what's in your hair?" Jakob questioned, stepping a little too close for Joeys liking. She attempted to push him away, but knew she would loose that battle since Jakob was about 10x stronger then she'll ever be. The boy grabbed a strand of Joeys hair, his eyes widening when he noticed that the hair was white instead of blonde.
"Your hair is starting to turn white, old lady." Jakob snarked with a laugh following soon afterwards. Joey grabbed a chunk of her hair before jogging inside the bathroom, wanting to see for herself. Sure enough a few loose strands of her hair were white, completely standing out from her normal blonde hair that she learned to fall in love with. Joey ran a hand over her face, resting her forehead against the cold mirror that somehow brought her a small sense of comfort. Jakob on the other hand was trying his hardest to keep his laughter at bay.
"Come on, sit down," Jakob encouraged, Joey sitting down on the toilet seat. "Your nose looks like a fucking tomato."
Joey let out a sarcastic laugh before throwing one of Liams spare shoes on the ground at Jakob who winced in pain. He then crouched down in front of Joey, beginning to clean her nose (while also making sure he didn't hurt her of course.)
"Why would I have gray hairs?" Joey blurted, attempting to start conversation once more. "I mean, I'm fourteen, not sixty."
"Grays hairs can come from stress," Jakob explained with a shrug. "Maybe you're just stressed as shit about something."
Joey chewed on the inside of her cheek, trying to think of all the stressful situations she's put herself in lately. There was protests, science projects, making sure that Debbie and her little band of toddlers didn't burn the house down along with the summer heat.
