Her Desperate Heart

Chapter fourteen.

This had been her dream since when she was a little girl, she had always wanted to work with Light dresses. She sat back down with her mother and Nick. “ Sorry but i have to go " Nick said kissing her mother's cheeks make her smile gleefully.
“ Are you ready babe?" Nick asked her and she nodded. She hugged her mother goodbye and left the place with Nick. When they got home, they talked for a few minutes then had sex, then he left since he had somewhere else to be.

“ Mum, i cant believe that you asked everyone to come " she said after seeing all her friends and their husbands, and also her siblings too.
“ We've got to support your boyfriend " her mother said.
“ Mum, he isn't really my boyfriend since he never asked " she explained.
“ Doesnt matter, i can see how much you like him and i am sure he likes you too" her mother said braiding her hair in cornrows.
“ Mum!!!" She shouted.
“ What?" Her mum asked smiling
“ Dad's over standing over there " she said grinning at her mother.
“ I didn't hear anything, Rissies" her father said innocently.
“ Dad, then how did you know we were talking about you " she said.
“ I kinda felt it, young lady" her father said and everyone laughed.
“ Gosh, girl. I swear if Nick sees you, I'm sure he wouldn't be able to concentrate on the match" Beverly said.
“ Thanks Bev" she said smiling.
“ No really, i mean it" Beverly said sitting beside her.
“ So that's all baby girl " her mother said. She looked at the cornrows her mother made and smiled. The hair looked really good on her , she applied the foundation, and added her neautral lipstick. She chose a red bustiere blouse and wore a black leather skirt and a black leather jacket. She wore her black boots and checked the mirror.
“ Y'all, what do you think? " she asked as she stepped out of her room.
“ Woah, woah. I wont let you wear that to Nick's game, you gonna distract him" Ashley said.
“ Like hell, you look good " Beverly said.
“ Thanks guys " she said.
“ Let's go, so we wont be late, i dont wanna miss the game" her father said.
“ Yeah, you are right Dad " she said picking up her car keys.

At the basketball game,
“ Mum!!!" She groaned at her mum acting like she was going for a prom with her crush. Well it wasn't prom and it wasn't her crush, Nick was almost her boyfriend and they were sleeping with each other.
“ What, i want you to look good " her mother said.
“ Yeah, mum's right, Rissie" Irene said laughing and Ethan laughed with her and there Iris stood wondering what was even funny.
“ Mum, i am nervous" she said when she and mum were alone.
“ About seeing Nick or your meeting with Ivan" her mother asked applying a red lipstick.
“ The two but mostly Ivan. Mum, light dresses as been my dream " she told her mother.
“ I know honey, that's why I'm supporting you every way"
“ Thanks, mum. " she said hugging her mum.
“ So dont think too much " her mum said.
“ Mum, i have to. I've got a million things to do, I'm thinking of expanding a little bit. " she said to her mum.
“ i know dear but you can do everything step by step" her mum advised.
“ You gonna make it for Adrien's wedding, huh?" She asked her mum. Next week was Adrien's wedding and she had finished his suit and also Nick's also.
“ of course. Adrien's like my son " her mother said and she rolled her eyes.
“ We got to go guys" Ashley shouted.
“ You guys go on,i will come in later " she said.
“ Okay " they said and they all went inside, she picked up her phone and called  Daisy, “ Hey Daisy" she said fiddling with her hair.
“ How is it?" Daisy asked.
“ I'm fucking nervous. " she said.
“ About Nick or Ivan" Daisy asked.
“ Both. I've got a lot in my mind."
“ I know. Me too, I'm scared about your meeting with Ivan. He might want you to close down pink butterfly dresses" ( the name of Iris shop)
“ I know right? " she said.
“ Yeah, but I'm still supporting you until the ending" Daisy said.
“ Thanks Daisy means a lot and i would be crying if i could " she said and she heard Daisy laughing at the other end.
“ Bye, i gotta go " Daisy said hanging up.
“ Excuse me " someone said and she turned around, and stared at the man.
“ yeah?"
“ Are you miss Iris Watkins ?" The man asked her.
“ Yeah, Any problems? " she asked placing her phone in her purse.
“ I'm Lewis, Nick's friend. He said that i should bring you to the back" he said. “ He gave me your picture and i talked to another lady who suprisingly looked like you but she was pregnant " he said scratching his head.
“ Oh, it must be Irene " she said laughing.
“ Like you guys really look alike. Well come on, we dont wanna keep Nick waiting " he said and she followed him sending a message to her sister in case if Lewis turned out to be a serial killer.
“ So we are here " he said and he opened the door and she saw Nick's teamate.
“ Hi" she said as she stepped in, and she walked towards Nick where he was standing looking all good in the yellow jersey.
“ Iris, wow you look really beautiful " he said looking at her.
“ Thanks" she said tucking her hair behind her ears.
“ So dinner after the match, what do you say?" He asked.
“ W-well, wont you have a little meeting with your teamates afterwards?" She asked.
“ I will but I'm gonna skip the meeting " he said.
“ Oh okay then. Eight?" He asked and she nodded.
“ Good then. See you afterwards baby" he said as he kissed her on her forehead.
“ We gotta go now " someone said from behind them.
“ Okay then " he said hugging her one more time before turning to leave.
“ Nick" she called and he turned to look at her, “ Good luck " she smiled at him.
“ Thanks " he said before turning to leave.

She rushed out, picked up her phone and called Daisy, “ Daisy, i dont know what to do " she said.
“ What happened " Daisy asked worried.
“ I just agreed to go on a date with Nick at exactly eight" she said rubbing her forehead.
“ Why will you do that? " Daisy asked.
“ Well, he was probably gonna ask me to be his girlfriend and i really couldn't say no" she said.
“ What are you gonna do " Daisy asked.
“ I dont know. I never thought there would be a day i would be choosing from the two things i really want " she said.
“ Maybe it's all a test. " Daisy said.
“ i think i'm gonna fail this test" she replied.
“ I'm gonna think of something, i going to call you if anything comes up" Daisy said.
“ Thanks, Izzy" she replied hanging up. She entered and saw that the match had already started, she walked to where her friends and family were sitted and it wasn't easy with different guys whistling at her and talking about her ass and boobs like she wasn't there, she finally arrived at her designated seat beside Irene and her mum.
“ Where were you? " her mother asked.
“ i got a  call back there" she said watching the game,
“ From who?" Irene asked.
“ Daisy, i was talking to Daisy" she said.
“ Chill, i ain't fighting with you" her sister said stuffing popcorn in her mouth.
Her phone beeped and it was Daisy's message saying,
          I CALLED IVAN'S SECRETARY AND HE ISN'T BUSY. SO YOU CAN GO MEET HIM AT HIS OFFICE AND BE OUT IN TIME FOR YOUR DATE.
She wanted to shout and dance but another shit, she was going to miss Nick's game. But Nick was going to understand, this was really important for her. She couldn't think, she sent a message to Daisy.
        TEXT ME WHEN YOU ARE OUTSIDE.
She pressed the send button and closed her eyes, she heard people clapping and noticed that she hadn't even been watching the game, she checked the scoreboard and Nick's team were leading. The clapping became louder as Nick and Adrien got into the game.
She heard people shouting and making sily noises, she clapped also and her heart kept beating each time he held the ball. And whenever he scored, she clapped louder than everyone else.  Her phone beeped, “ Mum, i gotta go, right now " she whispered to her mum.
“ Cant you wait much longer" her mum asked.
“ Nick asked me to go on a date with him at the exact time i was supposed to meet Ivan, so i got Daisy to change it now i have to meet
him in like thirty minutes" she explained nervously to her mum.
