Rainbow Road

The sun was slowly setting as the army drove out of the jungle. Sunni started to look sheer and saw that the waterfalls had parted and in front of her was a wide ramp.

"No one panic, but the road is about to end," Mario said nervously.

"Well, then, you better step on the gas and buckle up," Cranky told him.

Sunni nodded her head and she pushed in the gas, bracing herself. Everyone began to brace themselves as they flew up the ramp. Sunni shielded her eyes and saw that they were about to land on a magical glowing rainbow. They all landed on the magic road as Mario cheered.

Goombella swerved around as she laughed. "This Rainbow Road is really popular, isn't it?"

"The Rainbow Road?" Sunni called.

"Yeah! It's used to its separate paths and loop de loops and these magical roads can take you anywhere," She laughed as soon as she flipped her helmet up. "We should be in the Mushroom Kingdom before daybreak!"

"Is there anything like this in your world?" Peach asked him.

Mario couldn't understand her because she seemed too far away to hear. "What?"

The princess started to lean in closer. "Is there anything like this in your world?"

"No. We don't drive on rainbows," Mario informed.

"What are you gonna tell me next, that the turtles are evil?"

"No, no. They're usually pets," he explained.

"No way," Goombella gasped.

"Come to Brooklyn. I'll buy you a turtle," Mario pleaded Peach.

Peach began to chuckle. "Maybe I will."

"Dude, is this you flirting?" Donkey Kong teased as he drove close to them. "This is painful."

"I was trying to be nice," Mario insisted.

"You're so embarrassing. A princess would never go out with you."

"Yes, she would," Toad squeaked. "I guarantee she will."

"Guys, enough," Peach scolded them.

"Alright, alright."

Sunni sighed as they continued on driving. The sky had turned dark as the lights of the Rainbow Road gave off the sparkling glow. Suddenly, Mario and Sunni realized that they were being watched. She turned around and saw a flet of Koopa troopas from behind, driving their own karts. One of them shot a shell to knock the karts away.

"It's an ambush!" Peach cried.

Mario turned as one of the Koopas held up a bob-bomb but Cranky Kong managed to push him out of the way.

"Defensive positions!" Cranky ordered.

The Kongs began to activate their cannons and started to shoot banana peels on the road to make the koopa troopas slip on them. Sunni became startled when she saw a massive wrecking kart being driven by a blue Koopa Troopa. Its grinding blades and buzzing chainsaw rang in her ears. It started to persuade them as Mario saw something ahead.

"Split up!" Mario told them and he started to press the betal and move to the opposite lane.

"Mario!" Peach cried.

They had no choice but to go to separate paths. Sunni and Goombella went straight ahead while the others went left and right. Mario began to invade the wrecker as he spotted another path. He turned the wheel and jumped to the next lane, escaping the wrecking kart.
