Dimensions meet Brooklyn

Sunni felt herself hit the ground as she felt dust land on her face. She slowly opened her eyes and slowly got up to her feet, her muscles ache with each movement she took. Mario also stood back up to his feet as well and he saw something familiar about this place.

"Brooklyn?" Mario wondered.

"We're back home," Sunni gasped. She looked around Brooklyn, everything making her recognize this place. She might have guessed that this is where Mario lived and she was back home where she belonged.

Before she could ask Mario what was going on, a massive explosion of pink and blue burst from the ground, mushroom trees began to fall from the air. They begin to run as the massive explosion knocks them back. Goombella, Puffles, Toad, Peach, Donkey Kong, Cranky and Luigi landed on the road, hard. Frightened, Luigi began to hide in a dumpster to avoid the falling debris.

Sunni began to lift her head up and saw the glowing twinkling Super Star. It was right in front of them in their own eyes. She suddenly knew what it was. Dimensions are crossing over between her world and the Mushroom world. Before she could grab it, thundering stomps made them look. Bowser had emerged from the fog, his red eyes flaring like flames.

Uh oh, she thought. He looks mad. Sensing Bowser is gonna steal the star again, they began to race forward to grab it, but Bowser blocked their path. "You want this?"

The monster grabbed them and punched them so hard, they crashed into a car. Mario grabbed Sunni and started to run away from Boswer's flame. He started to throw objects at them, trying to kill Mario and Sunni. "You ruined my wedding. I was finally gonna be happy! Now you will suffer like me!"

Sunni cried in pain as they tried to run. Bowser started to swat them with his tail and they crashed into a pizzeria.

"You really thought you could stop me?" Bowser asked, searching for them. "You worthless weak little nothing. Come out and fight or are you too scared?" There was no sound. "Heh. Just what I thought."

Someone hit Bowser on the face and saw that it came from Peach. Donkey Kong started to join in as Bowser roared and started to attack.

Sunni struggled to stay awake, but she couldn't. She was bleeding and had gained purple bruises all over her body. Mario began to use a little bit of strength left and held her close to his lap.

"Come on, Sunni," he pleaded. "You got to stay with me."

Sunni opened her eyes and she barely said a word. "I...can't..." she moaned. "I can't... move.." She groaned in agony, clutching her ribs as she started to bleed. She couldn't even get up.

"I'm so sorry, Sunni," Mario apologized. "I never should have yelled at you."

The girl slowly began to lift her head slowly as she coughed. "No... It was mine. I got so fed up with you and DK arguing that I lost my temper. I.. never should have done that."

She inhaled a breath of air, the sound of Bowser's roar scared her. She just wished she had died in the hands of him. Mario lifted her hand with his hand and stroked her dirty brown hair. "Look, before we die.." she breathed. "There is something I should tell you... I was all alone and had no friends."

Mario's eyes widened as Sunni slowly lifted her hand. "Puffle is all that I'm left. She is my treasure. Even your brother." She began to stand up gently and wiped the blood off her eye. "Look, I'm just too weak to fight. I am so done."

Mario hesitated before he frowned. "No. You defeated King Kong back in the Jungle Kingdom, you met me and Peach so we can save your dog and my brother," he insisted. "You're the bravest girl I ever met." He felt tears in his eyes. "All I wanted was to save my brother."

"Then..." Sunni whispered as she slowly began to regain her strength. "We should save Brooklyn. It is our only hope because we have experienced what we are made for."

Mario began to nod his head as he fixed his cap and slowly began to help his true best friend.
