Peaceful love (LUIGI X BOWSER)

Chapter 1

(Mario playing matchmaker is so funny to me LMAO. There isn't any actual Bowser in this chapter, but there will be in the next)

Luigi wasn't sure how his brother got this idea into his head. 

It was four months after the peace treaty was signed between the Mushroom and Koopa Kingdoms, and things had never been more peaceful in the brightly coloured domain. The Princess of the toads, Peach Toadstool, had held a banquet in honour of said treaty, and of course the other party had to attend. The younger of the brothers had honestly been a nervous wreck at having to face the Koopa Royal family and his consultants, but the biggest fear was having to be in the same room as King Bowser.

It was a scary thought. Luigi always loved to see the good in everyone. After all, everyone deserved a second chance. But this was Bowser they were talking about. The king of the Koopa's, the man who attempted to kidnap the Princess on many occasions, who picked fights with his older brother many a time. He walked into that banquet hall with fear in his heart, staying as close to Mario and Peach as he could. 

He couldn't remember how it started, the conversation between him and the Koopa king. It was awkward and he was more than a little nervous, but there was something...captivating about him, something that Luigi couldn't quite place his finger on. The banquet was held all night, and somehow the man dressed in green found himself conversing for hours with the person he thought best to avoid. 

That was how their friendship started.

After that, both Luigi and Bowser found themselves making up random excuses to see eachother. They would find themselves talking into the long hours of the night or day, their gazes lingering on eachother for just a little too long. The smaller of the two was learning so much about not just the King, but the Koopa's in general. He was genuinely interested in how things were run down there, Bowsers relationship with his children and subjects. He heard many guilty confessions about the Koopa's tyrannical reign, his regret toward his wasted time with trying to peruse a princess who had no interest in him.  The human felt sympathy toward him, knowing his regret was authentic.

Luigi found that when he was alone, his thoughts suddenly turned toward Bowser. He found himself thinking a bit too hard about their lingering touches, the was their eyes meet and neither can bring themselves to look away. Yes, the man had not a lot of  experience when it came to relationships, but he wasn't stupid. He knew he had grown fond of the Koopa King. 

He couldn't remember how, but during tea with his brother and the princess, he had let it slip that he had grown interest in someone. Mario had seemed shocked, to say the least. Luigi wasn't really a people person unless he had to be, so the fact that his brother had grown so close to someone to the point he was now crushing over them, he was more than enthusiastic to help. The younger brother wasn't really sure what his older brother meant by the term 'helping', but he was appreciative of the support.

Or at least, he was.

Back to the present, Luigi had been invited to the castle by his brother. He left his cottage in his usual green attire, expecting this to be some sort of meeting for food or tea, something the three often did. So, imagine his surprise when he walks through the castle doors to see not only his brother and Peach, but Princess Daisy of the Sarasaland Kingdom. 

"Woogie, Bro. Glad you could make it!" Mario greeted him warmly, pulling his brother into a side hug by the waist. "Greetings, Luigi" Peach smiled heartily, rising from her chair to curtsey toward him. "Hey" Daisy waved, her other hand on her hip as she gazed towards the man dressed in green. He smiled back, awkwardly waving towards the two princesses directions. Luigi could tell, Daisy seemed just as confused as he did. Why were they all here?
