Kylie wore a white button-up shirt underneath a black and pink sleeveless patchwork sweater, as she walked up the marble stairs of the University, two pillars upheld the flat roof. Most jocks ran over to the football field, others to the track field, but a group of 5 jocks that wore red jerseys entered the school, mumbling about their grades.

Suddenly a very familiar sleek black car pulled up, a tall young lady opened the car door from the inside, she had wavy silver hair that shined in the sun, she had bangs strewn across her face, her hair was tied in a ponytail, she wore a cream jacket sliding on her shoulders, with a sleeveless black turtleneck top.
"Hi Kylie," She waved, stepping up the stairs to greet her friend.
"Hi V."

Lianne P.O.V.

"Lianne, wake up," I groaned, turning over and covering myself with my blanket. Suddenly my alarm clock started ringing. "Lily, time to get up" A plus-sized woman in her mid-forties, my mom says, her dark brown hair in a messy bun, she shakes me awake, "Momma... Ugh, what time is it...?" I said, rubbing my eyes, still in the light blue t-shirt and sweatpants I was the night before when I was talking to Kylie.

My mom proceeds downstairs, mumbling something about breakfast for everyone in the house, I don't know what she's complaining about, mother helps with the cooking, doesn't she? Besides, there are only three people in the house, not including Mr. Fluffykins, but he's a cat.

I picked up my phone and opened up my contacts.

Lianne
(Hey Kylie, when will we meet up?)>

I pocketed my phone, and head downstairs, I saw my mother, her black wavy hair flowed in the wind, and she wore a black tank top and grey sweatpants, "Hey sweetie," She said sweetly, "Oh, Bells, can you wash the dishes? Thanks, sweetie," My mom asked getting my breakfast ready on the table, "Mhm, sure," My mother walked over to the sink and washed her and mom's dishes.

"How are you, Lily? You stayed up quite late last night"
"I'm fine Mom, it's fine, I promise."
I patted her hand to reassure her, I ate the egg and bacon breakfast mom prepared. "How did you find your breakfast sweetie?"
"Perfect. Five stars. Ten out of ten." I said holding up 10 fingers, my mom kissed my cheek.
This has been a thing we've been doing since I was a kid, it has become a ritual ever since.

I wore a pink puffy sweater, white short shorts, and knee-high socks. "Oh, you look so beautiful," My mother said in a suit herself with her brown wavy hair let loose, "You're not uncomfortable with that Lily?" I shook my head, I didn't mind short shorts, or wearing pink. Some girls in our school pretended to, and they're so annoying— "It's pretty cold outside," I gulped and put on a strained smile, That was a bad idea, "Too late to go back now" I said looking at the clock, I picked up my blue bag and as we got in our white BMW, a message popped up.

6:34 AM September 22, 2023

Kylie
<(Hey I wanna introduce you to some1)
<(And when are you free?)

Why do I have a bad feeling about this?

Lianne
(Who?)>
(I'm free anytime)>

Kylie
<(Yk what, lets talk abt it at school)

Lianne
(Okay, see you)>

I wonder who she's going to introduce me to? My mind decided this was a perfect time for overthinking . . .

What if it's her boyfriend?
That would make zero sense, I've never heard her mention having one, and when a person in our school with a popularity status like her (Participated in a few competitions), it'll be news.
A sibling?
She didn't mention having a twin, having two pairs of twins in a friend group would be redundant anyways.

"Lily?"

Oh, sugar— I'm still with my mother—

"Yes, mother?"
"You just seem— so tense,"
Her eyes darted to the internal rearview mirror which was staring into my soul, "Oh," I fiddled with my fingers a little bit, "You see, I have a new friend," She nodded, "—And I'm kind of nervous, so— they want me to meet someone new, and I'm just wondering who it might be . . ."

She nodded again, "It'll be okay," I looked up quite surprised at her, "You think so?" She smiled, and turned to look at me, "They're probably trying to introduce you to their other friends, isn't that good? So that you'll learn more about them as a person and that you get to know someone else in the process,"
I giggled, "Mother, you give the best advice."
