Eyes drooping, head nodding low,
My body feels so heavy, so slow.
I struggle just to stay awake,
As I sit here in this school day's wake. The teacher's voice becomes a drone,
As I drift off to a world unknown.
I try to focus, to keep on track,
But my mind just wants to give in and relax. My head bobs up and down, side to side,
Trying to fight the urge to hide.
But it's no use, my eyelids heavy,
Sleep taking me over, so steady. And as I dream of far-off lands,
My classmates stare, with silent demands.
The hours of this day drag on and on,
As I try to stay awake with hardly a yawn. But soon enough, class will end,
And to my bed, I'll finally tend,
Where I can sleep without a care,
And wake up refreshed, ready to spare.
