The weight of my heart is heavy,
As I carry this burden of guilt.
A mistake I made, a wrong I did,
That haunts me like a ghost that never quits.
I wish I could turn back the clock,
And undo what I did wrong.
But time is not a friend of mine,
And I must face this on my own.
The pain I feel is unmistakable,
As I think of the one I've hurt.
Their trust in me, forever shaken,
Leaves me feeling small and uncertain.
I can't erase what I've done,
But I can strive to make it right.
To ask for forgiveness and understanding,
And to never forget this lesson in sight.
Guilt may be a heavy burden,
But it's one that I must bear.
For the only way to heal and grow,
Is to accept what I can't repair.
