I hide my emotions behind a mask,
A façade that I can barely grasp.
I camouflage my feelings with a smile,
Though it's just a lie that I compile.I cloak my thoughts behind these eyes,
My secret fears, my hidden cries.
I conceal my doubts deep within,
A labyrinth that no one's been.I bury my pain with every laugh,
The tears that I hold; a broken staff,
A shield that I wave to suppress
The tumultuous emotions I possess.I bury my heart to keep it safe,
A fortress that has a constant faith.
But the truth is I can't hide and run,
Eventually, the mask will come undone. So for now, I'll keep it in,
This feeling that's akin to sin.
But one day, I'll take off the mask,
And face the world without a task.
