CHAPTER FOUR
Damien and I returned home a couple of hours before dawn covering the sky with its orangish tint. And before I could knock, Sania was too quick to open the door for us, she had a scowl on her face ready to give me a piece of her mind but she instantly changed into a fake warm smile when she saw him standing behind me."Welcome back," She spoke, coating her voice with all the sugar she could find in the kitchen.
Damien grazed my shoulder gently on his way upstairs to his room, totally ignoring Sania as if she wasn't there. And as usual, she was too busy to check him out till he disappeared into his room. She didn't notice his rudeness at all. She closed the door and directly pulled me into the kitchen.
"Now quickly update me with everything you did with him," She says, acting like an overly excited best friend who has a teenage crush on the guy whom I supposedly went on a date with instead of her. Since there was nothing to hide from her anyway.
I told her everything in the exact detail she wanted to hear, she squeezed my arm so tightly when I came to the part when Damien saved me from that local harasser, not to mention the fact, she cursed me so openly and loudly that I got into an argument with him because of the scene he created in the mall that only a stupid girl like me will do so. But then she almost lost consciousness when I told her that I was on his lap, even though I did tell her all the reasons behind his sudden action, she was like she knew she had to be with him instead of me which I agree with because it was a moment that only Sania could dream to live. Otherwise being so close to him was no less than a nightmare.
"Oh, God! Dammit, I will get heart failure. First that strange woman from the morning and now you, intentionally or unintentionally, you both got opportunities to be with him and here, I am just dreaming about it," She said, clearly disheartened, disappointed, and disgusted too because the tone she used while saying these things showed that Damien had the worst taste in a woman if he had better taste, she would be in his bed right now.
And knowing Sania doesn't need to work on her sentiments, they are always visible through her voice and manners, I felt it was better to change the topic for now, "Sis, have you thought about Ravi?"
She rolled her eyes as she heard his name in distaste, "Don't remind me of him when I am thinking of my man," I don't know what to feel or react because I was aware that she was claiming Damien as her 'my man' even if she didn't take his name. I just felt apologetic to Ravi. At some point, I believe he deserves someone better, at least than Sania who forgot him in less than sixteen hours.
"But you gotta do something about him. If our parents came to find out that you both aren't living together they will get highly upset," I explained to her and she just laughed at me like a crazy woman.
"Tell me you aren't serious right now, are you? If our parents found out that Ravi and I are not together anymore, they would be either delighted because they were against our marriage from day one," She said, walking out of the kitchen to avoid discussing this matter. I won't push her any further. I also went up to my room and chose to get freshened. I changed into my pink pajama nightwear and ran downstairs to cook dinner.
