It was night again and as the birthday celebration continued for another day, Rue was currently on the run.

After trying Fez's place, realizing that not even Y/n was there, Rue decided to go over to the Howard home, Rue and Lexi's conversation had everyone walk out to see what was going on.

"Hey Rue" Maddy smiled, the first to hug Rue before everyone else followed suit.

"Geez Rue you look terrible, like really terrible" 'Well damn' I thought, looking over at Suze after she had made that statement.

"Yeah I think I just have a cold or something," Rue said as we all went into the living room, knowing Suze would be talking for a bit.

But once Rue went to the bathroom her mom had shown up, explaining to us that Rue had run away after realizing she was being taken back to rehab for her addiction, telling us about some suitcase of drugs she had.

'Damnit Rue'

"Oh fuck, it'll never fucking end" the girl sighed once seeing her mom, Rue now sitting at the top of the steps.

"This can't make you feel good, Rue. Livin' like this. Lying to the people you love. Being mean to the people you love. This can't make you feel good about yourself" Leslie spoke, obviously just trying to help Rue.

But as the woman kept talking, I remembered a lesson Fez taught me when I was about 10, my brother saying that no matter the addiction, nothing could reason with an addict besides a true soul-crushing reality check on what they've done, and sometimes that just comes too late.

Of course, I wanted to help Rue, that's why I had to block her number thanks to her begging me to just take something from Fezco's stash for her.

"I can't get clean. I can't do that shit forever" Rue winced just as Cassie stepped up.

"You don't have to. Just...take it one day at a time" the blond spoke, everyone agreeing as if that isn't what we've been repeating to Rue for years now.

"Hey, Cass?" "Yeah?" "I have a quick question for you" As soon as Rue had that specific tone in her voice and look in her eye, I knew she was going to say something crazy.

"What?" "How long have you been fucking Nate Jacobs" and there it was, the one sentence that was going to rock someone's world, and by the look on Maddy's face, I was sure she was going to rock Cassie.

"The fuck did Rue just say?" My girlfriend asked me, not even giving me a chance to say anything before looking back at Rue.

"What are you talking about?" "Oh, I just- I saw her get into his truck, and then kiss him and drive off. That was like uh a month ago" Rue exposed, the times matching up once I realized how weird Cassie's been acting.

"Are you kidding me?" "Oh wow, that's like...oh wow" I repeated "Yeah that's bad Cass" Kat agreed with my words of shock, Maddy's hands began to ball up into fists, and as much as I'd rather her not fight, and kill Cassie, I also didn't want to get killed by stopping her.

So I took a step back.

"You're fucking Nate, are you kidding me?" "W-what I don't even know why she said that" "you're fucking lying, I'm not going to just stand here next to my best friend who's fucking my abusive ex, I'm going to get violent" Maddy threatened, turning to me for a moment as I held my hands up in defense.

"Hey, I'd fuck that bitch up to," I say, not thinking Maddy would move so fast towards Cassie.

"But not during an intervention" I finished off, barely able to pull my girlfriend back as she got into Cassie's face.
