Coming back from another counselling session. You’ve been going for the past few weeks, but you haven’t told Luke yet. The depression, it can get too much, and with Luke and his career, you didn’t want to worry him anymore. You just came walking through the door, eyes still red, but Luke won’t be home. Right? That’s what always happens in these kind of stories, the boyfriend is never home when the girlfriend, the girlfriend crying and locks herself in the bathroom, does some scary things and then the boyfriend walks in and makes everything better? Is that the way it’s supposed to work? That is what was supposed to happen? Well… that kind of did happen… and by kind… it wasn’t Luke who was home, it was Ashton. “Hey y/n” he said running towards you; coming from the other room, “hey” you forced a smile, hugging him. “What are you doing here?” you asked, he went quiet; “um…” he said rubbing the back of his neck. “Ashton what’s going on?” you asked more sternly, “Luke… he… he’s worried about you and didn’t want you to be alone” he said quickly, “so where is he then?” you asked, “he had some writing to do, trust me he didn’t want to go, but he did, so that’s why I’m here” he partly smiled. “Great so now everyone thinks I’ve gone crazy” you mumbled walking away from Ashton, “that’s not true” he said following you. “Then leave me alone!” you yelled walking into your bedroom, slamming the door in Ashton’s face, locking it behind you. “y/n!” he yelled, “Y/N!” he yelled louder, banging on the door, “come on y/n open up the door” he yelled trying to open it, “unlock the door” he continued yelling. You just sat on your bed, crying.

You had been crying for what 10 minutes when you heard the front door open and footsteps quickly making their way to your bedroom door. “Y/N!!” Luke yelled, “Come on y/n please” he yelled, his voice breaking, “please, I’m scared” he whispered. You quickly ran over to the door, opening it up. Seeing Luke, his eyes were red, he was shaking. You quickly jumped into his arms. Crying. He held you while you cried; he slid down wall, still holding you. “Depression” you whispered into his chest, your grip on his top getting tight, “what about it?” he asked, “I’ve got depression” you whispered again, crying harder. “I’m not ever going to leave you, not now, not ever. This doesn’t change anything, I’m always here for you” he whispered, playing with the ends of your hair, kissing your forehead. He held you while you cried, whispering things like “please don’t leave, I love you so much, I’m always here for you.” You continued crying, slowly falling asleep on Luke’s chest.

*Luke’s POV*

I knew about the depression. I found her medication in her side table draw, there was a subscription with it so I thought she would tell me when she’s ready, but until then I had to keep her safe. “Luke you need to stay back and help Michael with the writing” Adam said, “but I need to go home, Y/N isn’t well” I said continuing packing up my things, “then get Calum or Ashton to go and stay with her” he said, “but you need to stay and do the writing” he said. “I can’t stay with her, I’m taking Jess out for out 1 year tonight” Calum said. “I can” Ashton said smiling. “Can I talk to you outside of a second” I asked ash, he nodded as we made our way outside. “You can’t leave her by herself okay? If she locks herself in another room you call me okay?” I told Ashton, “is everything okay?” he asked, “just do it” I said walking away.

I had been doing the writing for just under an hour when I got a phone call, *ASHTON IRWIN* the phone said. “Where is she?” I quickly asked, picking up the phone, “she’s locked herself in her bedroom, she thinks and we think that she’s gone crazy” he said, his voice shaking, “Luke what’s going on?” he asked again. I didn’t answer that, I quickly ran out of the building, quickly making my way home. I ran up to the bedroom, “you can go now” I said walking past Ashton, he nodded “let me know what you want me to do” he said walking out of the house. Y/N!!” I yelled, “Come on y/n please” I yelled, tears wouldn’t stop coming, “please, I’m scared” I whispered. I heard footsteps coming over to the door, there she was, her eyes were red, and she quickly jumped into my arms. I held her tight; I never wanted to let her go.
