(I forgot to mention this, but Taylor is in a community college, which means that she doesn't stay for four years only two, she also doesn't sleep there.)

A coat of fur rubbed up against my leg startling me, I looked down and saw a baby kitten. Grandma was out shopping, so I decided to bring it in the house and feed it some left over chicken from last night. The kitten was skinny and it had a cut on the top of its ear, it was a calico kitten with green eyes and a black nose. I gave it some of the left over chicken, but one thing led to another and I got too attached. I ended up naming him Casper, I thought about it for awhile in the middle of class while Mr. Epstein talked about the debate we were going to be doing tomorrow, he assigned me with two girls, Madeline and Marilyn. I think they were sisters since they had such similar names, but they're not, they're actually just cousins. One is a blonde with brown eyes who always wears red lipstick, the other is a suburb with green eyes who always wears eyeliner, blonde is Madeleine, red head is Marilyn.

"So, what should the debate be?" We talked about this in the library during lunch, a lot of people were in the library today, making it louder then it probably should be.

"Is climate change irreversible?" Marilyn suggested playing with her pencil. "Are dogs better than cats?" Madeline asked. "Dogs are better than cats." Marilyn raised an eyebrow.

I watched as the two of them argued like little kids. "No they aren't."

"Yes they are....." Marilyn argued back.

"Guys, that's not a debate, it's an opinion." I added myself into the argument, both of their heads turned to mine. "And what makes you think that?" Madeline asked. "My common sense," I paused. "It's an opinion because they're both great, they have their cons, they have their pros, but some people prefer one of the other. It really depends what type of person you are." I said.

Marilyn leaned in closer. "Type of person?" She questioned. "Yeah, like, dogs require more attention so I think that people who are more lively, but dogs do require a lot of money. A-And cats, they're more quiet and people who are introverted, more open minded, and more sensitive than dog lovers might like cats more, but cats do shed a lot, and they can you know...claw your furniture.." I trailed off.

"Did you guys hear about the hot new boy?" Marilyn asked, we all ignored her.

Madeline laid her head on the desk and groaned into it. "Then what are we gonna do for a debate?" She asked. "Oh! Forget about this," Marilyn threw her hands to her sides and dug into her pocket taking out two envelopes. "My birthdays soon, you two should come." She invited.

"Okay, but we really have to work on this deb-" I said before the bell cut me off making me sigh. "See you guys later?" I asked picking up my books. "Bye Taylor." They both said as I left the library. I ran into Tristan though, yippee.

"Oh, hey there Mary." He smirked down at me. I dropped my hands to my sides and glared up at him. "What?" I asked annoyed.

"You're the one who ran into me," he argued back playfully. "So, you got a boyfriend?" Tristan asked me, making my face slowly fall. I broke eye contact and looked down, my voice breaking as I spoke. "I-i don't know..." I said, sounding confused myself. I wonder if Billy still thinks about me, well me must from two nights ago when I saw him with a knife across the road.

I hope he doesn't hurt me, I made a promise to him that I'd never leave again, I didn't want to leave him, but I had to get out of that house. "You don't know?" He asked me, I kept my eyes down though, by the tone of his voice I knew that he had a smirk on his face. I swallowed, "yeah."

I brought my head back up and made eye contact with him. He shifted positions and kept his eyes on me. "Oh God," he breathed. "Taylor, I'm in love with you." He sighed. I furrowed my eyebrows. "You got my name right." I raised my eyebrows.

"You don't like me, you just like the fact that I'd go out with you. You like the attention," I argued back stubbornly. "Oh, so you admit that you like me?" He twisted my words. "Wha-what no!"

Tristan took my hand in his, "Taylor please, I can't eat, I can't sleep. Sometimes I find myself woken at night and calling out your name," Tristan paused before looking up. "Taylor, Taylor!" He imitated, "would you shut up?" I groaned, pulling my hand back from his. "I'm going to class Tristan."

"W-Well let me walk you! We have the same period!" He said trying to catch up to me. I folded my arms and walked into class with him. "You two are late."

"I'm s-" I spoke before Tristan cut me off. "We were just helping the new boy get to his class." Tristan said. I looked up at him as the teacher told us to sit in our seats.

I sat down in my chair, taking notes before I saw Tristan glaring at me, he was chewing on his pencil, he was leaned forward, he looked away once he noticed that I was staring back at him. Suddenly I felt like he was staring at me again.
