All of the researchers rushed through the hallways. SCP-049 was confused by this, and hated the commotion as he was trying to sleep. He felt something wrong though, a disturbance that struck him to his core, so he sat beside the door leading to the hallway and listened.

"Flowers, it's so strange!" "I wouldn't have believed it either, but that's what I heard." "Why would there be flowers?" "Why aren't they getting corroded?"

The doctor heard the mention of corrosion, and his heart sunk. Could it be..? He pondered. Why the flowers though? How did he get his hand on flowers?

He only grew more concerned when the talking ceased, everyone having already moved on. "What's wrong?!" 049 asked aloud, hoping someone was still there and would answer him. He rose to his feet, grabbing and shaking the door handle rapidly, hoping any noise would get him noticed and his question answered. "What is the ruckus!?" He called out desperately. He kicked the door in frustration. I have to take this into my own hands.

He walked back to his bed and grabbed his bag from his nightstand. He reached into it, rummaging for a moment until he retrieved a pair of surgical pliers. He used the pliers to break off the lock that kept him contained.

As soon as the lock hit the ground the pliers followed, with the doctor bursting out of the doorway and down the hallway. He wasn't quite sure where he needed to go, but he saw the crowd of people and approached them. He did not care about being noticed or restricted, for his mind was busy with other concerns. He shoved the crowd aside with his arms (to prevent any bodies from falling in his path) and rushed into the room.

He saw the sight for himself, the liquid covering almost every surface of the room with many petals sprinkled in. He hurried over to his associate and saw a petal hanging from 035's mouth, the mask in tragedy. "Doctor? Why are you here?" The mask telepathically asked.

"That is not the issue at hand here. Why are there flowers littering your chamber and lips?" 049 took the glass casing off of the pedestal.

035 hesitated with a response. "It's no worry. Truly."

"You speak no truth. Please, tell me the matter. I am not one to escape, so the reality that I have is not for just anything. I'm concerned."

The mask noticed hazmat personnel approaching them. "Behind you doctor! If you are captured, then you will surely be in a sizeable amount of trouble!"

049 glanced behind him. He saw three people approaching. He grabbed some of the liquid from the ground and threw it at the faces of the suits. 035 sped up the corrosion of the liquid, melting the face off of them, and the doctor slung more of the liquid onto their faces. They all panicked, but mostly the girl in the front when 049 pulled her closer and put the mask on her face.

035 gained consciousness of the body quickly, but coughed out more petals and liquid as well as blood. "That is not normal," the doctor pointed out. "I hoped it was the lack of a host, but I was proven wrong. Tell me, please, what is wrong and how can I help."

"Nothing of importance is occurring, I promise you-" 049 grabbed the hazmat suit and pulled it toward himself, firmly kissing the mask. 035 was shocked, and the doctor felt the mask change to comedy on his lips.

The doctor broke the kiss, using his thumb to swipe away a drop of liquid. "Did that help?"

035 was too flustered to respond, but he didn't cough anymore, so 049 was happy. The doctor hugged his familiar hardly and tightly, happy that he was now okay.
