" I wish I could come see you" Amelia screams down my laptop.
"You and me both ames." I say hugging my knee. Amelia hugs the laptop while pulling the biggest frown I've ever seen.
"Everybody here really misses you lei. Especially josh." My heartbeat speeds up at the sound of his name. Joshua is myboyfriend.
I had planned to dump him before this summer started because we would always argue about how we never spent any time around eachother. Clearly I didn't get round to doing it in enough time. We were doing long distance - and by long I mean I was ghosting him.
"You alive?!" ame questions me, shaking me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah sorry I was just thinking about something." I repeat back.
" I better get going, josh and some of our friends are coming round to have a little get together. I'm literally not going to enjoy myself without you so don't be suprised when you see my name as an incoming call." she mumbles out proudly with a sarcastic grin on her face.
"Okay have fun." I say giggling. I close my laptop once we end the conversation after saying I love yous and decide to go see if anything was happening downstairs. I find my dad in the kitchen and my mother and sister watching a movie.
"Hey." He says softly.
"Hi." I engage.
"Did you have fun last night?" he asks while filling up a cup of water.
"yeah, it was great I got to meet so many new people and they even dropped me home!" I grin proudly.
My dad nods at me as Mimi comes running into the kitchen to get another snack, my mother following behind her.
"Any plans today?" I say loudly, trying to engage everyone in the conversation.
"well the thortons have asked if we wanted to go golfing and have dinner at the country club." my dad coughs up. I make a groaning sound.
"Something wrong Leilia?" My mother looks over at me, having meylinah in her arms.
"Nothing, sounds great dad I think we should go." trying to avoid an argument i burst out in sarcasm.
"Alright I'll call them now." My dad picks his phone out of his pocket.
"No no worries I'll call topper don'tstress!" I say. My dad wiggles his eyebrows at me.
"That's alright Leilia, I'll do it. Nicetry though." My mother laughs.
She whips out her phone and starts calling them. Putting them on speaker. She tells them we can attend, they are overly joyful - I can literally hear the happiness rise in mrs thortons voice. They agree to meet in 20 minutes - enough time before the rush of people come in to grab a table.
