Because I Love You

chapter thirteen.

Jake drove off from Bella's house, once again worried about his friend. Although, as much as Bella's broken heart ached his, he only had one girl on his mind. The only thing for the confused boy to do was confront Megan and tell him exactly how he feels. He'll tell her that he hasn't stopped thinking about her and needs to talk to her again.

Jake's stomach twisted into a thousand knots as he pulled up in front of Megan's house. He saw a black car,that he assumed to be her parent's, parked in front of his. He knocked on the door sweaty palms and all.

"Oh Jake," Megan stated confused, "what are you doing here?"

"I need to talk to you about something. Can I come in?" Jake asked. His eyes were glued to Megan's beauty.

"Um sure," she said.
The two walked to Megan's room, Jake following her. The nervous boy was practicing what he was going to say as his eyes were pulled to a familiar guy laying on Megan's bed.

"Is it okay if Wes is here? Whatever you say to me you can say to him. Don't worry, if he tells anyone I'll hurt him," Megan said staring at Wes and throwing out a laugh.

"Ha ha, Meg, aren't you just the funniest person ever," Wes said sarcastically looking at Megan the same way Jake does.

"Um yeah. Sure, of course he can hear. It's not like I had anything private I wanted to tell you," Jake lied.

"Oh, great!" Meg said oblivious to Jake's snappy comment.

Wes looked at Jake waiting. His green eyes said 'I know what you're going to say' but his other features said 'I can't wait to hear'.

"I just wanted to tell you that I-I um I wanted to know if you forgave me for the while car accident thing?" Jake blurted out.

"Of course I did. We went over this already," Meg looked even more confused than she was on her last algebra test.

"Yeah I guess we did," Jake spit out a fake laugh.

"Awkward," Wes murmured feeling the tension between the two. " I think I have to leave now. Bye Meg. Bye Jake, it was nice to finally talk to you"

Jake faked a smile and Megan hugged Wes as he left. The second Wes closed the door Jake took a deep breath and quickly said,

"Megan, I haven't felt this way for very long and to be honest I don't know what this feeling is, but I have this pain in the pit of my stomach when I think of you. I've grown so familiar to this pain because I have been thinking of you so much lately. I want to be with you. I thought I liked someone else, but no. I like you and I needed you to know. The thought of you has been driving me crazy Megan. I hope you can understand this."

Meg was speechless for the longest time before she said, "I'm sorry. I don't understand this- whatever this is. You almost kill me and now you love me? I'm really confused. I think you should go, Jake."

Jake walked out of Megan's house in shame. He had no idea why he was ashamed of himself... but he was and it was absolutely killing him. Everything that could have gone wrong did and there was nothing Jake could do but take it.
