Because I Love You

Bella woke up with a headache from all the drinking she had done. Everything was a blur, except for how Nate acted last night. Bella was kinda hoping Nate would call her and explain what had happened last night, but he never did. Bella was getting irritated of Nate, but then she couldn't ignore the fact the she loved him no matter what. Her thoughts disappeared when she heard the door bell ring.

Bella dashed to the door, thinking it would be Nate at the door. It was Jake.

"Hey what's up?" Bella asked.

"Just making sure that you weren't hungover and I wanted to speak to you about something," Jake said.

"Okay I will get dressed," Bella replied.

Bella was curious to what Jake had to tell her. She got dressed and they headed to walk in the woods. Jake was one of Bella's oldest, best guy friends. They practically grew up together.

"So what's up?" Bella asked.

"So last night after I dropped you off at your house, something happened," Jake said.

"Oh my Gosh, you killed someone!" Bella yelled.

"Yea definitely," he joked. "No I didn't, but I kinda thought I did. But I didn't," Jake replied.

"So what happened?" Bella wondered.

"Well I was driving and I don't know what happened. I crashed into Megan's car," Jake said feeling guilty.

"Is she okay?!" Bella asked with concern.

"Yea, but I'm confused," Jake replied.

"Confused about what?" Bella questioned.

"I had this feeling in my gut like butterflies," he said.

"You like her," Bella said with a smirking face.

"That's the thing. I like her, but I'm still in love with Maria," Jake admitted.

"As your long time best friend, I have to be honest that I don't like Maria one bit. I have to say that you deserve so much better than her. But, I also know it's your choice not mine, so just choose the right one," Bella advised Jake.

"Thanks Bella, but now let's talk about what's up with you," Jake said.

"Nate is pissing me off...... And that's basically it," Bella replied.

"Did you call him?" Jake asked.

"No, but can we eat something? I'm craving for some chicken nuggets," Bella said.

"Sure lets go," Jake replied.

Bella and Jake walked inside a nearby deli. To her surprise Bella saw Nate eating with Allison. Bella didn't want Nate to see her, so she told Jake to wait for her outside. She was so curious as to why Nate was eating with Allison and she got a little bit jealous. Bella waited for Jake to walk out the deli, so she figure out what he was doing there.

"Did you hear anything he was saying?" Bella asked.

"Allison and Nate were just talking about how fun Melissa's party was. I also told him to call you," Jake responded.

"Fun? How could've it been possibly fun if Nate just stood there mute and motionless?" This ran through Bella's mind until her phone rang.

"That must be him," Jake added.

"I'm not answering it right now, but Jake can you please do something for me?" Bella begged.

"What is it?" Jake questioned.

"Can you find out why the party was so fun for Nate?" Bella asked.

"Sure," Jake said.

Jake already knew why the party was fun for him. He overheard what Nate and Allison were really talking about. They were talking about hooking up in the closet. Jake didn't know how he was going to tell Bella because he knew how much she loved him. He didn't want to break up two of his friends, but he also knew that Nate had to confess what he did to Bella.
