We've been driving for about an hour now. As I looked out the window, I couldn't help but realize how pretty the cherry blossoms were. If I'm being honest, they're probably my favorite flower. But every time I see one, I can't help but think back to my old life. I came back to my senses when my mom made a sharp turn into the new neighborhood. "Oh My-". My mom said as the car slightly lifted off the ground. We both looked at each other through the rear-view mirror and started laughing.
No more than 3 minutes later did we make it to our new house, and it was twice the size as our old one. We got out of the car, and while my mom opened the trunk to our car, I stood in front of the house and stared at it. I guess my mom caught me admiring the house, because as soon as she saw me, she said "Y/N, I know how you teens are with your privacy, so I'm giving you the opportunity to choose your own room". As she says this, she grabs a box of my stuff and follows me up the driveway.
When I opened the door, I was greeted by that new house smell. My mom shoved my box into my hands. "Girl, what are you standing there for? Go choose a room!" A huge grin appeared on my face as I kicked off my crocs and ran upstairs.
I looked at the first bedroom, which wasn't big nor was it small; it had a medium-sized closet with a mirror on the front. I wasn't feeling that room, so I went on to look at the other 2 options I had. The second bedroom was perfect; it had a bathroom and a walk-in closet included.
I put my box in my new room, and after taking one last glance, I went downstairs to talk with my mom. "Hey mom, you won't mind if I go check out the neighborhood, right?" I said as I walked towards the front door. "Not at all, honey! Just be back before 3:30 so you can say hi to your cousins!" mom says. "It'll be quick," I say as I walk out the door.
