As soon as we got back home, I was greeted by my cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Aria:Oooh, girl, what happened to your hair?
Lala: Yeah, you look like you were attacked by a homeless man!
JJ: You smell like the outside.
I rolled my eyes and went to hug all of them at the same time. You all cannot be talking, I said as I was pulled away. Anyway, you guys want to check out my room?
Aria: You want to check out the shower?
I rolled my eyes once again and pushed past her. She yelled, "I was joking, girl!" I yelled back, Whatever, big head," as I made my way to the front door. All of my cousins gathered in my room, where I was greeted by a bunch of boxes. I looked over towards the window and saw that my bed frame was already set up. I guess my cousins saw me staring because they all started to boast about how they put it together.
Aria: Mmhm, I did that.
JJ: I did most of the heavy lifting; that boxspring and mattress were heavy!
Lala: Periodt.
I laughed at them as I started to open a comforter set I bought a week before we moved here. It was a regular white comforter set with these beautiful gray and pink pillows. My cousins Aria and Lala helped me make my bed while JJ put up the Radiohead posters I had, followed by a pink, white, and grey marble portrait he hung over my bed's headboard.
JJ: Radiohead is so old school; why don't you put up some Drake or whatever?
Lala: Haha, Drake is the type of guy to have steam come out of his ears when he's mad.
JJ: Shut up! Get off of TikTok!
Me, Aria, and Lala start to bust out laughing at JJ. It was funny until he threw a pillow at Aria. Me and Lala stood in shock and busted out laughing as Aria stumbled; she saw us laughing and hit Lala, JJ, and me with 3 pillows she got from my bed. Oh, it's on," I said as I grabbed a big care bear from one of my boxes. Everyone dipped; JJ and Lala hid behind the bed, but I jumped on it and smacked them upside their heads. No more than 3 minutes had passed when we were called downstairs to help with decorating. We all looked at each other and quickly fixed my now-messed-up room. "We'll be down in 2 minutes," Lala said as Aria fixed the bed, JJ put my TV on the mount, and I put my comics on the shelves. As soon as we were done, we bolted downstairs and saw one of our aunts on the couch watching TV, and to our surprise, the whole house was fully furnished.
Lala: Wow, the house is fully furnished.
Aria went over to where the kitchen was and opened the fridge. "Yeah, but this fridge ain't." My aunt, Lala, aria, me, and JJ burst out laughing at aria's sudden outburst, "Aria, Leave her empty fridge alone!" JJ said as he laughed. I looked around and noticed that none of my other family members were here, so I went to ask my aunt. "Hey auntie, Where did the family go?" She looked at me and said, Oh, did your mom not tell you? You guys are having guests, and she and the rest of the family went out to get groceries." I looked around for my cousins, who were too interested in the TV to realize that their parents were gone.
I texted my mom, "Hey mom, why didn't you tell me that we were having guests over?" She quickly replied, Oh, sweetie, I am so sorry. We're pulling up right now. Open the door for me." I sighed as my mom dodged my question. I went to the front door and opened it for her as she and four other adults entered the house with grocery bags filled with food and ingredients. I followed my mom, who was clearly busy with putting the food away. Mom, who is coming over? And when?!" Your mom looked at you and replied, "You know that boy that helped you today? Yeah, I invited him and his family over for dinner. especially after helping my little girl, I just had to." I turned my head and said, "I'm not a little girl anymore; Jay'lynn is."
"But Jaylynn isn't here yet, is she?" My mom said you look at her stomach, and even though you're upset, you can't help but smile.
You walk over to your cousins and tell them everything. "So you didn't get bodyslammed by a homless dude?" Lala said as she, Aria, and JJ laughed. I stared at them with a serious look, which made them laugh even harder. "Haha! How did you get hit with a bike? You look like you were dragged," Aria said, and she stood up and put a hand on my shoulder. I looked at her as she told JJ to get their bags and told me and Lala to follow her upstairs.
When we made it upstairs, Aria pushed me into the bathroom and threw a washcloth and towel at me, along with some body wash. "Girl, take a shower! When JJ said you smelled like the outside, he wasn't joking!" As I got in the shower, I yelled back. "Shut up!"
Aria: No backtalk! Aunt Taylor said they'd be here at 6:30, and it's 5:00, so you better hurry!
I took a nice long shower, trying my best to clean the scratches on my palms and legs. When I got out, Lala had already placed a bra, pants, and an outfit on my bed. She stared at me and said, "Hurry up. You took so long, it's already 5:35." I looked at my phone, and she was right. "Stop wasting time and get dressed; it's nothing I haven't seen before," she laughed. I lotioned and put antibiotics on my body before putting on my undergarments except the bra. I stared at the lacey push-up and looked at my cousin. "Out of all bras, you grabbed this one."
"I liked the way it looked," she said, looking up from her phone. I threw the bra on my bed and grabbed a plain push-up. "This one is perfect for dinner," I said as I glared at her. She smirked, "Whatever you say, cuz, and I put on the outfit she had laid out for me and looked in the mirror. "Not bad," I said as I admired my reflection in the mirror. "I know my fashion. Not too much now," Lala said.
Just as she said that JJ and Aria came upstairs with their bags. "Hurry down, it's 6:20!" JJ said as he threw the bags down. We all ran downstairs, and as soon as we got down there, we were hit with the smell of heaven. All four of us ran to the kitchen, where some of our parents were, and stared at the food.
Lala: macaroni
JJ:Poatos
Y/N: Chicken
Aria: "ARE THOSE GREENS?"
The parents laughed as they got ready to set the table. Oh, honey, you smell so much better," my mom said as I walked past to admire the food. "Thanks, mom," I said as my cousins laughed at me. Just as I was about to tell them to shut up, the doorbell rang. "Oh, they're here already?! Y/N, go take this macaroni to the table," my mom said as she signaled the rest of the family to set the table up. She walked over to the door while my cousins followed my lead and helped set the table.
Once me and my cousins sat down with the food, they went to the family room while I met my mom at the front door. My eyes grew wide. "Oh, Y/N, look who's here," my mom said as she closed the front door. I look over at the boy with the yellow cargos and red hoodie, then at the tall guy with the purple sweater and gray jeans, and finally I make eye contact with Scott Tenorman.
He sent me a mischievous grin as my mom was busy making small talk with the woman who was most likely the red hoodie's mother. "Oh, so your name is Y/N?" he said as he and his friends made their way towards me. I stood my ground and kept it cute, even though I wanted to slap him across the face.
