you walked up to your next class, earth science. the classroom was decorated with stars and planets around. fairy lights hung from the ceiling and the big light was turned off. the classroom was already pretty much full by the time you got there, so you quietly made your way to an empty desk in the back of the classroom. your teacher, ms. jane, sat in her desk up front, reading a book. she was young and had black hair that was pulled back.

as you waited for the bell to ring, you pulled out one of your notebooks. you pulled out a pencil and began to doodle in the corner.
"nice drawing." you jumped slightly and put your pencil down. you turned around to see the boy in blue, who wendy called craig, sitting behind you.
"uh.. thanks." you turned back to your drawing of jupiter you started. he continued looking at your paper as you drew. "can i help you..?" you turned back around.
"just looking." he replied monotonously.
the bell rang through the classroom and your teacher stood up.
"okay ladies and gents today we're going to start on a small project. which will require partners so everyone group up."

you felt a poke behind you. your eyes widened and your head turned back, craig just looked at you.
"partners?" he spoke up.
"uh sure." you smiled, not really having any other option. you turned back to the teacher, who was putting something up on the board.
"you and your partner are going to study temperatures of a state of your choice, then graph it. you'll be doing the span of a few years, to show how climate change is affecting the environment."

you and craig decided to work on the temperatures of minnesota.
"so then.. this day it was -60°." craig said emotionless.
"holy shit negative?" your mouth was agape.
"yes. that's what i said." he wrote down the information.

even though craig seemed to not show a whole lot of feeling, you still felt at ease while talking to him. even when you two were working in silence, you smiled at his comments and looks.

"you gonna get that?" you smirked as his phone started blowing up, noticing several messages piling up on his screen.
"i probably should." he picked his phone up.
"who's got their tits in a twist?"
"my boyfriend, tweek." his face didn't budge it's expressionless appearance, but in contrast his fingers rapidly typed on his phones surface.
"he okay?" you asked quietly while writing down another temperature.
"he's fine. he just gets worked up easily." he set his phone down and took a deep breath.

you smiled at craig. he seemed so down to earth. you could picture how the two worked so well together, how they balanced each other out. must be nice.
"okay guys class is coming to an end, so go ahead and put everything away. we'll continue this work tomorrow." your teacher sat back down as everyone around you threw their things back into their bags, eager to leave. you, on the other hand were not excited. you had calculus next, and if there's one thing you hated it was math. the bell rang and everyone rushed out of the room, you stayed behind slightly as to not get mixed up into the over crowded wave of teens.

you found your next class right across from your science room. pretty much nobody was in there, so you chose a spot in the back of the room. you put your head down on your desk as you heard feet shuffling into the classroom.
"y/n-" you pushed your head up to see kyle smiling at you. "hey i didn't know you were in calculus." he sat down in front of you, turning around to meet your tired face.
"unfortunately." you smiled.
"heyy dont be like that." he chuckled. "math can be fun."
"i don't know about that."
"i'll make it fun for you." he quipped confidently.
"oh really?" you tilted your head playfully.
"well i can try." he shrugged.

your eyes fell onto his for a second, the two of you smiling like idiots.
"plus-" he started again. "i am like super smart. and good at math. not to be cocky or anything."
"oh no you don't sound cocky at all." you said sarcastically, causing another chuckle from him. his cheeks turned red.
