kyle paid for both of your admission, which was a bright yellow paper wristband that had the words 'ride pass' written across. you looked around at all the people, most of which who were younger couples. you wondered how many were on first dates.what a terrible place to have a first date.
"where should we go first?" kyle gripped your hand while looking down at you.
"uhm.." you glanced at all the rides. "let's go on that one." you pointed at a large rotating sphere ride.
"you sure? that looks pretty scary.." he playfully nudged you.
"i'm sure." you smiled.you both waited in line, you were standing so close to kyle you were basically on top of his shoes. but he didn't mind. once the ride ran a couple times you were next in line. you grabbed a seat in the back of the cart, kyle following closely behind.
"i'm so excited!" you buckled into the seat. "i haven't been on a fair ride in years."
kyle felt good that he caused your happiness. you turned your head to him, his eyes looking deep into yours."i-" he started, but the ride took off. in seconds you already forgot about his attempt to start a conversation as the cart flew around a smooth track. you laughed as the ride rolled upside down, causing kyle's hands to fly up to keep his hat on.
"woo!" you lifted your arms up.the ride came to a quick end and you sighed. you stood up quickly when the cart came to a stop, kyle doing the same.
"that was so fun!" you grabbed onto kyle's arm and looked up at him.
his face was more pale than usual, and you felt his knees shake as you both walked.
"are you okay?" you stopped walking.
"of course." he put on a small smile.
"oh my god, you don't like rides-" your face scrunched. "you should've told me! i'm sorry."
"don't be-" he looked around as he calmed down from the adrenaline. "why don't i win you a prize?"
"that's a bit cliche for you broflovski." you grinned.he rolled his eyes and made his way to the carnival games, dragging you along as he kept his promise to hold your hand.
"which one do you want?" he leant down to your ear.
"ugh they're all so cute." you looked around. "you might have to win me all of them." you smirked.
"don't push it."
"okay.. i want that one." you pointed to a big stuffed bear in your favorite color.
"ah. of course." he stepped up to the stand, a short man coming up to the counter."hi, um 10 darts please." kyle asked the carnie, who eagerly handed over the darts. kyle closed one eye and lined the dart up with a balloon. he threw the dart, popping the balloon his first try.
"ah very good." the carnie tipped his head as kyle lined up for the next one.after spending almost $50 on the game, kyle had won you the bear. he felt so accomplished. you smiled widely as the carnie took the bear down from the tents rope.
"congratulations." he smiled an almost toothless grin.
you hugged the bear tight, kyle close behind you. you turned around and popped up onto your tip toes, giving him a quick kiss."you like it?" kyle smiled, the dark covering his flustered expression.
"i love it." you held it up. "i think i'll name him.. kyle."
"shut up." kyle rolled his eyes as you laughed. "what now?"
"food?" you questioned.
"hell yeah." kyle said with a serious tone.
"okay, but i'm gonna run to the bathroom first." you handed the bear to kyle and gestured to the bathrooms across the food court.
"okay. i'll keep kyle safe." he held the bear tight.
"you better!" you yell as you run toward the bathroom.you walked into the bathroom, which was fairly clean for being outdoors. you did your business and pushed your way out of the stall to wash your hands. as you did, you waited for the water to turn hot. your eyes focused on your hands. they looked smaller and more distorted the longer you looked.
