It was nearly sunrise when Jennie was wandering aimlessly around the castle. Her arms were crossed as she scuffed through the empty, wide hallway. She felt so small.

Her steps were echoing down with the small flames above flickering as if to say hello and she smiled softly especially when one descended downwards to float beside her. It sparked and Jennie laughed quietly,

"I couldn't sleep," she said with a small shrug, her grin wavering. The flame seemed to dim as if it understood her, empathized with her.

She had the same chilling nightmare of Ares. The image of her heart in his pale hands as he smiled at her in cruelty had goosebumps rising on her skin. She knew she would not be able to fall back asleep anytime soon.

So, there she was, speaking to a flame as if it were an old friend. And, perhaps it was. She lifted her hand above the flame and allowed the warmth to nearly kiss her fingertips while wondering if she would ever remember her past life within those white, castle walls.

"Will I ever remember anything?" She asked in a soft whisper. The spark flickered before ascending back up. She watched it blend with another flame with a small sigh before facing forward with a perked brow. A door had just opened revealing a certain blonde.

Their eyes met and Jennie's breath hitched. It was as if those warm, golden eyes locked her in place and she could not look away nor move. A strange reaction—right?

"Why on earth are you awake?" Lisa asked, taking steps closer. Her eyes remained on Jennie and Jennie thanked the heavens that the hallway was dim. The blush in her cheeks would have been visible to anything and everything.

It was not because Lisa had been incredibly gentle with her since her second near death experience but because her robe was opened and what Jennie saw was a tight tank top that was almost just above her belly button. It was obvious that the soldier in front of her was quite toned.

"Hybrid?"

Jennie blinked and suddenly Lisa was in front of her and staring at her – really looking at her. Those wide, worried eyes looked at her as if she knew everything about her. Who she was, what she liked, what she hated. And most of all, what scared her. Jennie felt vulnerable under her gaze.

Jennie crossed her arms and smiled lightly, the corner of her lips twitching and Lisa glanced at it for a second before sighing and taking a step back with a soft knowing look.

"Follow me," she said before turning around and walking further down the corridors and Jennie released a breath she held before cautiously following. They didn't speak a word for a moment, the only sounds were their steps scuffing the tiles and Jennie stared at the back of Lisa's head the entire time.

The blonde locks, swinging and flowing like a golden waterfall. Jennie must be tired. She must be.

Just then, Lisa had stopped walking and Jennie looked ahead and laughed lightly, "The training hall? Brute, I think you have an addiction."

Lisa shook her head and Jennie could've sworn she heard a chuckle as she opened the double doors with ease.

"I do not understand why that is such a popular assumption around here," Lisa muttered. "Is it so wrong of me to enjoy the idea of increased ability and strength?" She asked, turning around and staring at Jennie with mischievous eyes while walking backwards.

Jennie raised a curious brow with an amused grin, "Not if it means losing sleep on a nightly basis." Lisa stopped suddenly with a small frown,

"Similar to your experience, I presume?"

Jennie stopped where she stood. Was it that obvious? She asked herself. Jennie couldn't deny the moments when she felt the angel's eyes on her. But, everytime she would glance back, Lisa was no longer looking at her so she believed it was all in her mind. Guess not.
