The pounding in your head had woken you early, you had barely slept. You wash your face in the sink in an attempt to liven yourself up, but all you feel is nauseous and exhausted. Wiping the water off with a towel, you look up to examine yourself in the mirror, you resembled that of a creature from the walking dead. There is no way in hell you were going anywhere looking like that. You slap on some bronzer and mascara to make yourself feel better, brushing your hair back and weaving it into a tight braid. It helped a little, but you still looked and felt equally as awful. You throw on your signature white bikini and an oversized beach shirt. Wearing the same thing everyday could be boring, but you kind of loved not having to spend time overthinking your outfits each day. Taking a deep breath you consider what you wanted to do this early, maybe a walk and some sustinence would make you feel less like you were about to die.
Shuffling out the door, you spy the elevator to your left. It was so early you were almost certain you wouldn't be caught using it. Grinning you call the lift up and jump inside, how rebellious of you. Snickerign to yourself, you enjoy the ride down to the lobby, leaning down to stretch before your walk. As if the gates of hell were opening, the elevator screeched to a stop and the doors ripped apart. Oh god, you were totally busted. You start profusely apologising and making up excuses as you raise yourself out of your stretching position, only to find Chishiya standing before the entrance with his arms crossed. He had a flat, uninterested look masking his face.
"Morning." You manage to utter, "I didn't realise anyone would be up at this time." Preparing yourself to be scolded, he instead simply nods and glides over to stand beside you. He clicks the basement floor button, and the doors close. Corny elevator music fills the small space, this could not be more awkward. You glance over and take in his gorgeous side profile, he really was perfect. Suddenly you are hit with flash backs of last night, his arm around your waist, his lips on your neck and you grinding in his lap. Your cheeks flush with colour, oh my god, why wouldn't he even look at you? Thinking harder, your drunken thoughts return to you. You remember having one too many drinks, laughing with the executives, Chishiya carrying you up to your room as you told him how mean he was, and him whispering something before he left that you couldn't quite remember. He turns his head to face you, and you realise you were downright gaping at him with your mouth wide open. Snapping it shut, you pivot back to face the door.
"That was all for show last night. So don't go having any rouge thoughts." He states bluntly, "I did it for Kuina."
Of course it was for show, like you would ever had thought otherwise. The cocky prick had no interest in you. You hate that the thought had crossed your mind for just a moment last night, but it had quickly passed when you remember how much you hated his guts. You give him a cold smile, "Thank-you for stating the obvious Chishiya, and thanks for helping last night, but trust me you'd be the last person on earth, or wherever the hell we are right now, that I would want." Before he could respond, the elevator reached the ground floor and as soon as the doors opened, you hurriedly walk into the lobby. Without turning back, you storm outside the resort, that was the last time you would ever take that stupid elevator.
You walk for hours, mind racing over the recent conversation with Chishiya. God he was insufferable. How dare he assume you wanted anything to do with him, you had better things to do than pine after pretty boys. You weren't even sure if you would live through the next games, you had to keep focused. Yet still, your mind kept flashing back to last night over and over again. Why did he have to be so damn hot? Still lost in thought, you hadn't even realised how far you had wandered until you reached a park on the other side of the city. The foliage had taken over, trees and flowers blossoming into a small forest like area, it was beautiful. Immediately, your mood lightens. You stroll through the plush greenery, admiring its wild and untamed beauty. This was what happened when people didn't toil with nature, it began to restore itself. You smile, breathing in what felt like freedom. Eventually, you reach a pond and where you sit staring at your reflection, running your hands through the calm water which should be filled with koi/ Tears fill your eyes, you hoped your sister was doing ok, where ever she may be. You still didn't know why or how you had gotten here, all you knew was that you had an eerie feeling about the place, but you also felt horrfyingly connected to it. Was it aliens? Hallucinations? Dreams? You had no idea, but you intended to find out.
