"Excellent work, Allya. I knew I could rely on you. Already the Seperatists are marching on the capital. With the element of surprise, they should be able to take the planet." Her mother said once she reported her success.

"They'll never hold it. The planet is too close to Republic fuelling stations." Allya replied.

"Exactly. They'll disrupt the fuel supply of the Republic while spreading themselves too thin. The longer this war drags on, the weaker both sides will be. If we direct this war correctly, an opening will appear. We'll be able to carve an empire of our own in the chaos."

Allya smirked. Finally her mother was letting her into the real plan.

"So there is more to this than simply our safety."

"Of course there is!" Talzin replied with a grin. "There's always more to things, my daughter. I can tell you aren't surprised. That's good."

"What of the Sith? The one who took Maul?"

"I suspect he is playing his own game with this war, although I still can't decide what exactly he's hoping for."

"Could he be an ally?"

"No." Talzin answered firmly. "No, he only serves his own interests. If we reveal our own involvement to him, he'll seek to destroy us."

"What of Asajj? She was wielding red lightsabers and knows who I am. It's possible the sith already know."

"No... She isn't a Sith. Not yet at least. If she was, you wouldn't be alive. It's possible that she will tell whatever master has been training her but... my instinct tells me she wont."

"It would be good to have a chance to speak to her."

"Be careful what you wish for. You've seen how your last 'chat' went. Don't let her take advantage of your curiosity again."

"I won't mother, I promise." Allya said before igniting a lightsaber and looking at it. "Besides, now I have these."

"Ah yes. You should make sure to practice with them before your next mission. Next time you come home, we will soak the kyber crystals in ichor. They should be infused with the power of Dathomir."

"I look forward to it."

"Until then. Go, train, my daughter. I will contact you soon."

"Goodbye, mother."

Talzin was right. She should practice with them. She set course to a largely abandoned planet with some hostile wildlife. This would do. Animals were dumb and if things got too bad, she could out think it to escape. She did fight a rancor regularly afterall.

The creatures of the planet that she was 'hunting' were ape-like beasts with strong arms and sharp claws.

It didn't take long after landing for one to come swinging from the trees. Unfortunately for the creature, it was hard to sneak up on a force-sensitive. Allya ignited the lightsaber and turned around, swinging the blade toward it. She was caught off guard by the lack of resistance as she sliced into the animal. The blade moved through just as easily as it did the air. In a split second the animal was split in two, its charge stopped in its tracks.

Very nice.

She continued this for a while, trying out different fighting styles that she'd learned. Only a few times did she burn herself and only once did she cut herself. Usually if her lekku swung in battle, they would bounce fairly harmlessly against the weapon. Now, however, they were in danger. She'd have to remember that.

Still, apart from a few differences she needed to keep in mind, they were very similar to fighting with a regular sword.

As she was heading back to her ship she noticed a rising cloud of black smoke a short distance away. It was worth checking out and it gave her more time to practice. She set off at a jog towards the smoke.
