TW's: mentions of abuse and eating disorder
Present – 1997Interviewer: What was it like to finally get out of a toxic relationship?
Aislinn Dunne: [the older woman sighs] It felt refreshing, like it was the first breath of fresh air that I'd had in three years.
1974
It had taken Aislinn one week to hatch a plan on how to end things with James. While Aislinn had originally planned to end it with James the morning after she'd spoken to Camila, she was too nervous to do it that quick.
After realizing that the James she had fallen in love with was just a figment of her imagination she knew that the real James wouldn't be so quick to let her go. Which is why after a week of planning Aislinn had finally decided upon inviting James to her home in Laurel Canyon to finally end things once and for all.
Aislinn sat in the living room couch next to Warren, Eddie and Graham as they watched tv trying her best to focus on what went on the current show the boys were so engrossed. The young brunette twiddled her fingers not being able to keep her mind off what was to come. Before the girl could go any deeper into her nervous state of mind, there was a knock at the door. It was time.
As Aislinn quickly got up to answer the door, she came face to face with the tall and serious dark haired man she had called her boyfriend for the past three years. The girl was quick to have him follow her to her room before quietly closing the door.
When James had been on his way to Aislinn's house, he had no idea what was in store for him. It wasn't until the two stood alone in her room that he knew what was coming or at least he had some idea of it.
After closing the door, the young brunette sat on her bed then gently patting the spot next to her wanting the dark haired boy to sit next to her. The boy just stared at her as he shaked his head before scoffing at the girl.
"What is this, Aislinn?"
"James...We need to talk."
"Oh for fucks sake are you ending things." James said as his voice started to raise as he began to speak more and more.
"James, we've been together almost two years and many people don't have that at our age but we shouldn't be together anymore. We're just not good for one another." the young brunette said trying to keep herself together.
"What do you mean we're not good together? Since when did we stop?" the man said as fury started to course through his veins. "Are you trying to end things for someone? Are you trying to fuck somebody else, is that what this is?" the man said as he now began to yell at the girl.
