Interviewer: What happened before the Chicago concert?Aislinn Loving: Everything started to change. It felt like everything we had built up had started to crumble down.
October 4, 1977
After getting settled in her room, Aislinn had noticed they were running out of baby food. Leaving her room, Aislinn runs into Graham, whose eyes are red and are growing swollen, as he came out of the elevator.
"Graham?" Aislinn asked, as she saw an upset Graham passing by her without glancing once at her. Graham stopped to the call of his name, recognizing the voice as his sister, he then turned around watching as she walked up to him and put her hands on his shoulders.
"Are you okay?" Aislinn asked concerned, although there was a part of her that knew why exactly her brother looked so upset. "I-" Graham could speak, he felt stuck in his own mind and had no way of finding an out or telling his sister what clouded his mind.
"Graham." Aislinn spoke softly, attempting to persuade him to continue. Instead, Graham grabbed her by the hand and took her to his room, where he knew no one could listen in to what he was about to say.
"Karen was pregnant." Graham whispered, trying desperately to continue what he needed to say. "She uh, she didn't want the baby and never told me that. I thought we both wanted this, the baby, but it seemed like I was the only one wanting it and she just told me she-" Graham froze not being to get the words out of his mouth.
"She's no longer pregnant." Aislinn stated, knowing very much well what had happened while Graham simply nodded. The two siblings sat in silence not knowing how or where to continue.
"Graham, I know it's not my business, but I remember both you and her saying that she had never wanted kids." Aislinn said as she broke the silence. "She didn't but I thought with her now being preg-. I thought she changed her mind." Graham responded with his eyes watering.
"When she told you she was pregnant, did she once say that she wanted to keep the baby?" Aislinn asked. Graham sat silently, thinking over to what had happened with Karen, realizing not once had she said that she wanted the baby.
Aislinn took Graham's silence and expression as his realization that he had let his feelings overtake the memory, that he had never saw it as the way it was. Aislinn stood up from her spot, knowing that her brother needed space and that she had to get going.
