Chapter 37. The Royal Guards

The C.I.Gang cautiously left the Castle as they continuously watched for any more signs of the Illusion Demons. They follow Trixi to find the portal. With every step they took, they worry that they would be spotted at anytime. After a while, they eventually find the portal, but a new problem was there before them. It was surrounded by the Illusion Demon Royal Guards. One of them being Commander Ash. However, many members of the Gang didn't know who he was. "Who is that?" Asked D.B. Wolfe explains. "That is the Commander of the Royal Guards. Ash Couragaristis. He is the youngest of Zinteren's children, but he is very powerful." The Gang wondered of how they were going to get past them. "So now what do we do?" Asked Warpaint. Maladar gets an idea. "I will distract Commander Ash as much as I can while the rest of you make a break for the portal." The Gang was sceptical. "But there's too many of them!" Said Cyclone. "You can't fight them alone!" Maladar looks at them with confidence. "Trust me." He said with a grin. "When I give the signal, you run. Understand?" The Gang still didn't know if fighting against Commander Ash was such a good idea, but they know that Maladar had the best chance. The Gang peppered themselves as Maladar approached the Guards with the Gladiator. Commander Ash notices him coming towards him. Maladar watches the Guards as they crawl around the portal, growling and screaming. Suddenly, Commander Ash gives the Illusion Demons the command to attack. One by one, the demons approach him. The Gang stood and watch as he fought them off. Maladar takes the Gladiator, using his powers to enchant the blade. He slices every demon with ease. Ash was unaware of the blade's power. He decides to give him a try after all the Royal Guards were killed. Maladar gives the Gang the signal to run. "Let's go!" Yelled Warpaint. They continued to run towards the portal. Ash notices them. He slams Maladar hard to the ground and attempts to crush the Gang with a bolder that was nearby. "Look out!" Yelled Cyclone. They dodge the attack. Maladar gets back up at tries to take him down once more. The Gang continued to run as Maladar held him off. They go into the portal one by one. The last one to leave was Cyclone, which who had concern for Maladar. A flash of light had appeared before his eyes. First going from a bright red, then orange, yellow, until finally going to white. Blinded by the light, Cyclone calls out for Maladar. The area was so muffled, he couldn't hear the sound of his own voice. Finally, the whiteness fades away, clearing his vision. Still deafened by the portal's vortex, he calls out for every member of the Gang, hoping for a response.
