Chapter 21. Underground

The Gang headed straight for the City Basement, which was located behind the Towers of Courage. Mic tries to open the door, but was unsuccessful. "Huh. Its locked." D.B cuts in front of him. "Allow me." He said. He takes out all the built-in keys he had, but unfortunately, he forgot that he didn't have the same body he once had. "Oh dear." He said. "It seems I've left the keys in my other body." Suddenly, Psycho begins to walk away for a few distances. "Where are you going?" Asked Mic. "Don't worry about him." Said Warpaint. "Let's find out how to open this door." "Right." Said Mic. "So. We don't have the keys anymore, so..." Mic looks to the side and saw Psycho running hard in their direction. Then it dawned on Mic about what Psycho had in mind. "Get back! Everyone get BACK!" Psycho charges straight into the locked door, knocking it down. Dust flies everywhere after the takedown. The rest of the Gang look at Psycho who was still flat on his face. "You alright there man?" Asked Wolfe. "Oh my everything!" Psycho mumbled in pain. "Well on the bright side, at least he opened the door." Said Warpaint. The Gang walk past him, but thanked him for his help. "Good work Psycho." Mic said with a grin. Psycho still lied on the ground without moving a muscle. "I'm just gonna lie here for a while." He said mumbling. The Gang continues down the Basement. Mic looks around the room, happy to be back in the place he used to live. "Home sweet home!" He said. However, nobody seemed to be around but them. "Where is everyone?" Asked Cyclone. "Surely Zinteren didn't kill every last one of the them." Wondered Mic. Suddenly, an arrow hits a beam next to them with a warning. The Gang takes out their weapons to defend themselves. "Where did that shot come from?" Asked Warpaint. They hear a voice in the darkness of the Basement. "Who are you?!" Yelled a man's voice. They hear another person's voice. "Wait!" Said the second voice. "Is that...? Thank God! It's the C.I.Gang! Hey everyone! The Gang has returned!" Suddenly, a group of people appeared from the darkness, cheering for the Gang's return. They chanted with excitement as they surrounded the Gang. They all put their weapons away. "At least we know that there are survivors." Said D.B. One of the Couragians becomes alarmed about D.B's appearance. "A B.O.T!" He yelled! Mic puts up his arms to calm the people down. "Relax!" He said. "It's only D.B." Mic looks over to his robot companion. "We better get you repainted." "I totally agree with you sir." Said D.B. "I'm starting to have second thoughts about this new look." They go over to where Mic's old bunker used to be. "I hope my tools are still here somewhere." Mic said concerned. The rest of the Gang made themselves at home. They had never felt so happy to be back at the City Basement.
