ALORA TRULY wished she was brave. If she was, not only would she be loved by her peers but she would also not be shitting herself just by the mere thought of fighting someone (other than ares kids). now, that she's walking towards a fighting ring, about to take on the best swordsman of the camp, she felt like crying.

'im going to get embarrassed' she thought, 'but,' she paused, looking back at percy and annabeth 'those two. .' she smiled thinking back at their encouraging words, her face heating up as her eyes shifted on annabeths figure. 'i will do this for them.' alora decided, making her way to luke proudly. "i will do it for her" the brown haired girl whispered her eyes gaining some of their green color back.

"i hope you have been paying attention to my teaching, because most of those techniques will be used against you." he stated, his voice confident, making alora rethink all her life choices. "well, guess im fucked." she laughed nervously, earning giggles from the crowd since her voice was rather. . .loud.

luke seemed amused by the younger girls antics, a sinister grin appearing on his face as he heard the ancient voice guide him. "i will not go easy on you." said the blue eyed boy, taking his sword off its holder, the action made alora gulp. "b─bring it on, castellan." the intimidated girl chocked out, taking out her silver dagger (that she obviously didn't steal) and cringing at herself stuttering.

the counselors eyes seemed to widen at her words, as if he wasn't expecting her to comply so easily. he then run towards the brown haired girl, using the butt of his sword to hit her in the ribs. alora fell down, not expecting the move, and groaned at the burning sensation, debating with herself if she should just give up or get up and try again.

she chose the latter(unfortunately for her).

the moment she got up she was once again hit by the older guys sword but this time she balanced herself before falling down. the brown haired girl then grabbed her dagger and slashed him slightly on his exposed shoulder. luke hissed and looked at the cut with wide eyes, before looking back to his target only to find out she has moved from her place. as he was about to start looking around, he was hit rather harshly on the head making him slightly dizzy.

before he could comprehend what happened, he was pushed down earning a rather guilty look from alora (i mean, he did try to comfort her earlier). the blonde boy took notice of this and used it to his advantage. he let the emerald eyed girl take a closer look of his face and then punched her right on the stomach making her let out a cry before falling besides him hugging her stomach.

the counselor got up the moment she fell down, holding his still hurting head and having his sword aimed at her head. "checkmate." the blonde exclaimed, alora just squirmed under him in response.

'i can't give up so easily.' she thought, wiping the cold sweat from her forehead with one hand still on her aching stomach. 'but he's too experienced, he knows exactly what i'll do next. he is always two steps ahead.' alora stated, her squinted eyes looking up at back at his shiny sword. 'im so stupid for even thinking i could win against him, i should just give up." she sniffled quietly, tears threating to spill as she coughed blood into her palm.

"i shall give you the strength once more, use this opportunity to learn what you're truly made of."

"get up alora!" the ocean eyed boy yelled, his voice showing he truly cared for the girls well being and next to him, the most gorgeous girl, inside and out, that she has ever laid her eyes on. the brown haired girl knows annabeth well enough to remember that the blonde truly wasn't an emotion driven person, so seeing her face so determined, so confident was just out of character.

"you can do this! get up and show him!" the gray eyed camper screamed out, her face full of hope, as if she knew alora could defeat him.

"show them. show everyone. win."

"how the tables have turned." the now gold eyed girl mumbled, wiping the sweat of her forehead with her forearm. she then raised her dagger to lukes head, seeing him crack a smile.

"who knew you had it in you?" he asked curiously, looking up to the girls face "your eye color is going green again." the blonde pointed out, getting up now that he has accepted his defeat. "what are you─" the brown haired girl paused, her injuries finally catching up to her.

"alora are you─" was the last thing the teen heard before falling unconscious.

aloras eyes fluttered open, frantically looking around the weirdly decorated infirmary room. she blinked a few times before realising where she was.

'the. . .infirmary room?' the camper repeated her previous thoughts and as if on cue, a deep monotone voice started to yell, "what even happened to her?" anger evident in his tone. "please, calm down mr. d." a worried chiron argued, "let him speak."

there was a long pause. "well," the familiar voice of luke started, "as i was saying, after i knocked alora down." he continued, pausing for a second afraid of how mr. d would react to his words. "her eyes started to glow and faded into a golden color." the blonde boy continued his speech, yet the brown haired girl couldn't being herself to listen anymore.

'. . .golden?' she questioned, 'like. . .my dad?' alora shook her head in an attempt to stop the thoughts from coming. but, that's when she realised, the voice she heard, it was him. he helped her win. he gave her the courage. he. . .saw her.

"do you get it now, my light?"

alora had tears streaming down her face, her eyes glowing once again. "he never wanted to hurt me." she whispered, using her palms to cover her face. "i will make you proud, dad" she laughed, determination taking over her features.

"rest now, darling. you need it. they should be here tommorow."
