Chapte 14

Gally and Minho shared the same 'look' scaring the others as they took off after Terrance who picked up his gun and ran for the cave exits. 

"Tommy?" 

"Newt I have to" 

"I know which is why Jackson is staying here with Sonya and I'm coming with…" 

"Newt" 

"Shush, we are wasting time" 

Jackson soon found himself in Sonya's arms, he cried for his parents only for Sonya to hum a familiar tune that his dad sang. Chuck remained behind knowing Gally, Minho, Thomas, Newt and Casey had this covered. Frypan smirked watching the five ignore rules of the guards who were distracted by Terrance as they dived under the barrier shields only to gasp. 

Cranks surrounded a berg where a familiar man stood on the top taking down the cranks surrounding the berg. Nick was shooting for all he was worth but the amount of blood he had lost was becoming unbearable. His vision was blurring, Nick stumbled to hold himself up, a crank had managed to catch him off guard as it appeared in his vision, he glared at it only for a gunshot to go straight through it. 

Whipping around he saw the gladers with Casey, shooting for what they were worth. He stumbled into the berg, grabbing his bag and walking in the direction of them all. Gally instantly helped him to his feet when he fell. 

"Go! I've got you covered!" Minho shouted, Gally nodded, helping his cousin run for the barrier. Terrance waited pressing the button that turned the shields off for a minute. The gladers ran for it as it closed just behind Minho. 

"Thanks" Nick gasped out as Terrance and Casey caught him, one arm over their shoulders. Minho took the bag, noticing the serums and a few other things. He froze seeing the book with the symbol on it that Jasper had warned them about. Nick caught his eyes and silently gestured for him to hide it. Minho did so in Nick's jacket. The older man nodded in thanks as he was directed into the commander's room. 

Jasper moved things aside to allow him to sit. Nick slumped down into a chair ignoring the medical person as he leaned into Terrance who held him close. 

"What happened this time?" 

"This time! Does he do this all the time?" Vince asked.

"Niro has teamed up with Wckd to find his weapon" Nick gasped out, stitching his side up without a care in the world. Terrance shook his head helping him. 

"What weapon?" Jorge questioned. 

"How am I supposed to know?" Nick snapped back as Terrance caught something on his wound. He apologised only to be waved off. 

"You're lying" Lisa stated, turning all attention to her. 

"Would I ever?" Nick grinned as he spoke, pulling his jacket further on his person. 

"Nick, do you know what the weapon is?" 

"Nope" 

"Are you sure?" 

"Yes Vince, I'm sure" 

"Don't be sarcastic with me" 

"Or what, Lisa?" 

"Enough! What's the issue?" Frypan asked, Jasper could only sigh. 

"If Wckd and Niro have teamed up with the intention of finding this weapon, there's a chance during their search they will stumble across this facility and cause problems for us…" 

An explosion off the coast had all attention turned to the cameras where incoming Wckd ships shot at the mountain, drawing out many guards who shot back.
