Unexpecting

Cassie's Point of View:

Whenever me and O.A. have a day off work, we try to have a day to relax or catch up on our sleep mostly. Sometimes, we even go out and help others for volunteer work. But, today was different. I was feeling a bit under the weather so I told O.A. he could go out and do volunteer work without me while I sleep it off. He wanted to stay with me no matter what I said but I told him it's okay. I would feel better later when he gets back. 

After, O.A. left I did sleep for a bit then I was woken up by a sudden urge to run to the bathroom. I was feeling nauseas. I got whatever I had in my system out and was taking a breath in and out while leaning against the wall. Then, I started to think and then it hit me. My period was late. I got up from the bathroom floor and went into the bedroom and open my drawer on my side and pulled out an unopened pregnancy test.

I was sitting on the toilet just staring at the box for who knows how long before opening it and decided to check if I was or wasn't pregnant. After I was done urinating onto the pregnancy stick, I had to while a few minutes. I set a timer and went into the kitchen and started to nervously eat whatever was in the fridge. I felt like I was waiting forever and then I heard the timer go off. I slowly but quickly went back to the bathroom and not looking right away but picked up the test to see the result.

That's when I saw the Plus sign! I'm Pregnant!

I took a deep breath and all I can say was "Oh My God".

The first person I could think of to tell right now wasn't O.A. but Maggie so I called her and asked her to come over. I know she also takes the same days me and O.A. have off too. I didn't tell her the reason why yet for the reason to come over. All I told her was I was under the weather and needed some female company until O.A. returns home.

I sat on the couch waiting patiently for Maggie. 

*Knock* *Knock* *Knock* 
"Cassie, it's Maggie!"

I got up from the couch and went to unlock the door to see Maggie.

"Hey, you okay?" she asked as she stepped inside. 

"Yeah, I'm feeling okay" I said as I closed the door behind her.

Maggie went to sit on the couch and I sat on the opposite couch close to her.

"I wanted to tell you something and I wanted to tell you face to face instead of over the phone. I would tell O.A. but knowing him he would come rushing home and I want to tell him as a surprise. So..."
I didn't know how to finish the sentence so I pulled out the pregnancy test and just placed it infront of her.

I watched as she saw it and picked it up to look at it closely before looking at me. She looked at my wide eyed with her mouth slightly open.
"Pregnant! You're Pregnant?" she asked me. 

I smiled and nodded "Yes".

"Oh my gosh, Cassie. Congratulations!" she leaned forward to hug me and I hugged her back.

"Thanks, Mags. I want to tell O.A. but I don't know how he'll react. So, I'm wondering if you'll help me?" I said to her.

"Of course, I'll help you Cassie!" she said as she came to sit down next to me.

We started to brainstorm before O.A. called me saying he's on his way back. I let him know that Maggie was keeping me company while he was out. At first, he told me I should've called him earlier and he could've came home right away and that he should've stayed with me instead from the beginning. Me and Maggie laughed as I had him on speaker phone. Maggie assured O.A. that I was in good hands and for him not to worry. We hung up as he'll be home soon.

I also told Maggie that I shouldn't be worried about how O.A. would react cause I know he wants to have kids no matter what the time is. But we know how much he worries about me everyday. Now when he knows we'll have a baby, he'll be even more worried. He'll want me out of harms way and probably wants me to do work from the office or to make sure I'm truly safe is staying at home.

Either way, we'll see what happens. When O.A. walked in through the door, Maggie stood up from the couch and greeted O.A. and went to make her way out. We both said goodbye to Maggie and she'll make the set up for the reveal later on. As for right now, I have to be careful not to give away my pregnancy to O.A. and be careful what I eat and drink too.
