After Learning the Truth

Cassie's Point of View:

I ran, until I got to the bridge where I would come to for some peace. I sat there catching my breath as though I was running without even breathing. I put my earphones in my ears and started listening to songs that were sad and meaningful. Listening to them, I started to cry and cried even more as I was looking up at the starry sky.

I couldn't believe what I just heard, I was walking into the apartment I was living in with O.A.
 and now know that O.A. was the guy that saved me, who I cried into while holding onto him. I remember now that I did see him when he came into the coffee shop that one time but didn't think anything of it. I thought I was just thinking crazy when I thought of it. Looking at O.A. now and remembering his face from the day he saved me. Made me decide to look it up on my phone the day my parents died and when I was kidnapped.
It was hard at first but after hearing the truth out of nowhere I had to know now.



After crying to myself and being alone for sometime and had to go back but, I didn't want to face O.A. after just finding out the truth. I saw that he has tried calling me a number of times along with multiple messages but, I ignored all of them. I have to go somewhere else for now, until I'm able to face him again.

The only other place I can think of to go is Maggie's and that's where I started walking to. When I got to her apartment, I knocked on the door and waited for an answer.
That's when she opened the door, "Hey! O.A. has been trying to reach you. Did you get his messages?" she said.
Luckily, she was here and O.A. wasn't with her.

"Yeah, I got them but didn't look or respond to him. I can't face him right now, Maggie. I can't even stay with him in the same room. Is it okay if I stay here?" I explained and asked her.

"Yeah, sure, come in" she said and welcomed me into her place.



Maggie's Point of View:

I made a big mistake going straight to O.A.'s apartment confront him about truth of his connection to Cassie. I didn't expect and neither did he expect for Cassie to be standing by at that moment and hear everything that was said. She quickly made a run from O.A. and as I stayed behind for a bit to realize what have I done, I quickly followed behind. By the time I got outside, Cassie was gone and O.A. was looking around for her. I told him to give her space and time, she just found out the truth and it's going to be a while before she accepts it.
O.A. agreed but he was still concerned for her. Before, I left he was messaging her multiple times and tried to call her but she didn't respond.

I was surprised not long after I got back to my place that I heard a knock at my door, I went to answer it and it was Cassie.



Me and Cassie sat on the couch for a while talking about what was heard at O.A.'s apartment.

"So, you had know idea about O.A. saving my life?" she asked wondering if I knew or not.

"No, not at all. I guess there's somethings we still don't know about O.A. besides him being in the military. I didn't know he was a cop at one point" I said.

She nodded, "I'm going to take a day off tomorrow. I should be fine by the next day after" she said.

"You sure?" I asked her as I would be concerned about her going into work knowing if she would be ready to face O.A. knowing who he is now.

"Yeah, I gotta use the bathroom real quick" she said before getting up and leaving the room.

While she was in the bathroom, I noticed her phone was buzzing, looked and saw O.A. was trying to call her, I picked it up and I decided to answer it.

"Hey O.A. it's Maggie" I said.

"Maggie? You with Cassie?" he asked being worried.

"Yeah, she's with me. She didn't want to go back to your place so, she came here" I told him.

"Maggie, I don't know if I could handle being away from her. I'm coming over right now" he said.

"O.A. please don't. If you come over you're just going to make her push you away even more. She's going to take the day off tomorrow but, she should be okay the day after. She'll be fine, I'll watch her for you" I tell him.

I hear him sigh on the line, "Okay! Just make sure she's okay" he said.

"I will" I tell him and he hangs up and then I hang up.

Cassie then comes back into the room, "Was that O.A.?" she asked.

"Yeah" I said as I place her phone back towards her as she sat back on the couch.

"I know I can't ignore him forever but, I just need time to adjust to this" she said.

I grabbed her hand and held it as she held mine, "I know" I told her.
