[10] THE ONE IN THE DRESS
The next morning, Felicity Steele rolls around in bed, cursing Mother Nature for letting her haver het 'time of month.'
She's, in a way, happy that she doesn't have to go to prom. That already takes away three-quarters of the tension, and weight she has on her shoulders.
Felicity isn't someone who ever obsessed over 'PROM!' and 'GRADUATION! (Bitches)' in the first place.
So, luckily for her, if anyone does take prom away from her, she won't cry.
Her phone rings for the umpteenth time.
Ignore.
Ringtone plays.
Ignore.
Ringtone almost comes to an end.
Accept.
"Who are you, and what do you need?" Felicity groggily asks, burying her face into a pillow.
"Well, get your ass down to my car, this instant, or I'm pulling your hair and dragging you down!" Eloise and Sofia (so nicely) threaten her in unison.
"The door is locked."
"Connor's taught me how to pick a lock." A slap is heard. "What? Your boyfriend's brother is smart too, you know."
"There's no point in me coming, anyways," Felicity sighs, draping an arm over her forehead.
"Felicity, will you please, and I ask kindly, get your freaking, round-shaped, butt outside!" Sofia yells, once more.
"Not everyone -"
"I know you aren't really fond of the whole 'prom' concept, but do this for us. It's our last dance, Felicity. You have to come," Eloise softly says.
"I rather not, Eloise. I'm not going to come if I'm going to be the only one without a date. Everyone's got a date. I don't want to take one of our teachers, aka Mr Tim to prom."
"Felicity, fine. Just come and help us. Please," Sofia begs.
"No , I know you guys. If I see one dress, you make me buy it. Not this time. I'm staying," Felicity says.
"Well, have you seen a dress that you like?" Sofia cheekily asks.
This is exactly what Felicity means. If she says one little word about her seeing a dress in a shop, they will interrogate gate her until she snaps and tells them all the details.
But she saw the dress online.
Prom is today.
No way in hell will they be able to get it with the shipping days and such.
"Okay, so I saw this dress online, and I really like it," Felicity reveals. "But there's not point because I'm not even coming to prom!" she says brightly, feigning as if she has stated something obvious and surprising.
"What site?" Eloise asks.
Felicity sighs, getting up from her bed and opening the window. Looking down, without the pair knowing, she looks at them. Eloise and Sofia are on speaker phone and are leaning close to the device.
"Verso, and good luck," Felicity smirks, yelling the last part.
The double noises make Eloise and Sofia look up. They curse at their friend, picking up pebbles.
