Two Weeks Go By...
Hyerin had been in this glass box within a locked room for quite sometime. Her contact with anything was limited & she feared her mind was playing horrible tricks on her. Was she going crazy after all ?
As for the seven, they remained in town. Keeping low profiles as they began planning to leave the area. However, all of them seemed tethered to this place. No doubt probably having something to do with Hye-Su & Hyerin opening their coffins as a whole.
Yun-Hee & Taeyeon came into the room to see Hyerin. She was given some food, but was shocked to see them at all. "당신은 진짜입니까? 제가 완전히 미쳤나요?" (Are you real ? Have I gone absolutely crazy ?) Hyerin was desperate for answers. She had no idea how much time has passed & she only knew the confines of which she was being held now. Taeyeon scoffed as she slid the tray of food their the compartment in the glass wall to Hyerin, "You are a failure for sure. Too curious for your own good..."
Hyerin was shocked. What happened to them ? Weren't they her friends ? Were just like everyone else ?Vampires ?Yun-Hee bowed as the door opened. In walked a man & a woman. Hyerin immediately recognized the man as her father. "Dad ! Dad please get me out of here !" Yun-Hee & Taeyeon were shortly dismissed as the woman kneeled by the glass where Hyerin sat. Staring at her.
Her father made an apologetic look. "I am sorry. Hyerin ah. I can't let you out of there. It isn't up to me..." The woman offered a smile as she tapped the glass to get Hyerin' attention. "혜린아, 내가 생각했던 것보다 훨씬 더 가치 있을 거예요." (You'll be far more valuable than I expected, Hyerin ah.) Hyerin backed up a bit, "W-who are you ? How do you know me ?" The woman exaggeratedly smirked as she pointed at her face. "I am your mother, Silly." Her mother ? No. Her mother died. They had a funeral...
Hyerin screamed, "My mother died ! We had a funeral ! You-- You can't-- !" Her attention darting to her father wanting to believe this woman was lying, but her father didn't meet her eyes. The woman laughed as she stood up once more. "You don't have to call me mom, Hyerin ah. After all, I haven't really been a mother to you..."
Her father interjected, "Ease up. No need to completely scare our daughter, Hana." Hana shushed him as she pointed at Hana. "Stop this, Jiwoo. You very well know why I am doing this..." Hana entered the glass box with a key of her own & a few syringes. "나한테서 떨어져요!" (GET AWAY FROM ME !) Hyerin screamed as she kicked over the tray of food. The food now being the last thing on her mind.
Hana lodged a syringe in her neck. The contents fully calming her body, but keeping Hyerin fully awake. Once calmed, Hana drew blood with the other syringes. Just enough that Hyerin would need a little rest & plenty of fluids.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Hyerin woke up lowly. Her eyes eventually settling on her father. She was in the coffin room this time. "Why are we here, Dad ? What did Mom do to me ?" Her questions were completely valid. She still felt a little weak, but she had most of her strength back.
Her father sighed deeply, "You mother took blood for a ritual..." Hyerin leaned against the wall closest to her before she took a few breaths. "의식? 엄마가 무슨 의식에 내 피가 필요하셨지?"(A ritual ? What ritual did Mom need my blood for ?) Jiwoo looked at his daughter, but he knew she didn't trust him now. Not after what he basically allowed Hana to do... However, Jiwoo was completely human. There was no trance of any supernatural gene in him or his family.
"It is called "The Switch" ritual... Unique blood like yours has properties that can completely change the properties of others blood upon consumption. In fact, you blood is said to purify. It can be used as a bloodlust blocker. It stops vampires who are practically starving from doing what Hye-Su had done..." Hyerin couldn't believe it. Her mother was using her blood, without so much as asking, to make up for what Hye-Su had done ?
Hyerin had one final question. "If that is the case... Why are we here ?" Her father sighed once more as he knew what was said next would absolutely would drive his daughter away from him completely. "You are to be sealed in a coffin to ensure your blood stays pure. That your vampire gene never gets activated..."
Almost on que, Hyerin' mother gently sat her weak daughter in one of the coffins. "Don't do this... Please...", Hyerin pleaded only for Hana to ignore this. Hyerin weakly & slowly watched as the coffin lid was closed. Hana immediately cut her hand & blood sealed the coffin closed once more.
As soon as it was completely sealed, Hyerin' eyes closed. Jiwoo cried silent tears as his eyes remained on the coffin. The coffin his daughter was now trapped in. Hana rolled her eyes. "지우야, 울지 마. 혜린이는 그냥 잠들어 있어요. 그녀의 피는 순수한 상태로 남아있을 것이고 뱀파이어 생존의 필수적인 부분일 것입니다..." (Stop your crying, Jiwoo. Hyerin is simply asleep. Her blood will remain pure & a vital part of vampire survival...)
