Shoot. My jacket was stuck. I pulled and pulled, but it wouldnt budge. I had two choices. I could either leave my favorite jacket on this stupid pole, or I could get caught. I went with the more reasonable one. Quickly I slid my arms out of the sleeves and ran. I could hear their voices. They were getting closer.

"Dad! Where's my stupid backpack!?" I shouted. Im always borderline late for school, and this time if im late, I have the pleasure of having lunch with all the "delinquents". Fun, isn't it?

"First off, dont use the word stupid. Second, did you even bother looking next to the backpack shelf?" My dad says.

"Of course. The backpack shelf," I mumble to myself, looking up and throwing my hands in the air for effect.

"Have a good day, Ara". My dad pulls me into a hug like every morning. Some kids might hate those, but I still like when my dad gives me hugs. He's all I've got, and I want him to stay. Those hugs give me the reassurance that I need to go on with my day.

See, I bet now your confused. My dad really is all that I've got. I use to have a mom, but she did when I was 2. She died in a car accident. I was in the car with her.

After my dad released me from his hug, I grab my backpack and start towards the door.

   "Bye dad!" I call out.

"Bye Ara!" My dad says back.

I walk towards the bus stop. I really dont think our bus stop is fair. In fact, nobody does! Out bus driver made it up because she didnt want to drive all around the neighborhood and waste time. I mean, what if some weirdo pulls me into their car while im walking to the bus stop?! Just blame my bus driver.

When I get to the stop, everyones there. I can always find my friends, right in the middle. To the immediate left of them is this group huddle of popular people. I never really got why the huddle in like that. I just expect them to say "Hut!".

To the right of them are the not so popular people. Well, their really not popular. At all. I hate calling them geeks and losers though. I mean, who cares? They dont help their status, though, considering their talking about what they would do in case of a robot apocolapse.

My friends are just their in the middle. We arent really popular, but we definitely arent interested about talking about some robot apocolapse. We just like to make each other laugh. Well, I'm usually the one who makes them laugh, but still. Once I reach my friends, we say hi, and my bus arrives.

My bus is rowdy. I mean, take your bus ride and duplicate the rowdiness by ten. Thats my bus. The second we get on, the populars become the top of the food chain, and the unpopulars become the bait. There are even fights on the bus, which doesnt shock anyone, since our bus is a huge mixing pot of statuses.

My friends and I always sit in the middle. We dont need to worry about being "harmed" by anyone, so we can basically sit anywhere. I sit down next to my friend Terra. She's my closest friend. If we became enemies, we would know enough to drive each other into hiding.

"Sooo... I heard that Jack was gonna finally ask you out!" Terra whisper-shouted. For some strange reason, Terry has wanted me and Jack to be an "item" since the first week of eighth grade.

"Terra, Jack is great and all, but Im not that into him," I say. "I dont even know why you want us to be a couple! Its gonna be awkward hanging out like we usually do if I was with Jack," I add in, since I seriously have no clue why she wants us to be a couple.

"You guys would just look so perfect together! Its like the perfect couple!" She says a little too enthusiastically. Some other kids turn their heads towards us, trying to get a scoop of gossip to tell.

"Ssshhh..." I say, trying to calm her down. I did my job fine, I guess. When I looked back at Terra, she was looking foreward with a smile on her face, totally somewhere in Terra-world. I really hate that world. Im always jealous because I dont have a hidaway world that I control, which would be so cool to do during class.

Someone shouts in the back of the bus, and we all quickly turn our heads. Even Terra woke out of her dream.

"What happened" and "Whats going on spread throughout the bus like smoke. Our attention was moved to outside, where we saw gushing water shooting from a little hole.

"Calm down! I just went off the road a little, kids. Just sit down and wait a second," said my bus driver. When I looked outside, I could first off see we were about ten feet into the side of the road. Second, we had hit a fire hydrant. Smooth, bus driver, real smooth.

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that this is my first book, and please tell me in comments how I can improve! I would love to write a book to get to the top of the list of teen fiction, but I need input to do so! Thanks!
