The rest of the day went by quick, and the teachers loaded us with homework. As I walked out of my last period class, Terra caught up with me.

"So are we meeting up at my house or your house tonight?" She asked.

"Your house, my room's a mess," I laughed.

"Okay, but bring something nice to wear. Remember the last party we went to?" She asked me, causing me to flash back to Jessica Rivers' party last week. I showed up in a tank top and jeans, and every other girl there was all dressed up, so people gave me these really rude stares. Not fun.

"Yeah, yeah. Dont remind me," I smiled.

"Plus, you need to look nice for Ja-ack," She sang.

"Terra, I dont want to rush into something with Jack. I just got out of a relationship with Max," I told her.

"You realize it's been four months, right?"

I froze. Four months. Has it really been that long?

"Still. I just dont want to get into things and make a mess out of it. I've done it before and I'm capable of doing it again," I told her, my voice getting slightly louder. My blood felt like it was boiling, the thought of Max made me furious.

"Okay, just think about yourself when you do decide," She smiled reassuringly, then walked off to her locker. Terra really did know how to make me feel better.

When I reached my locker, I opened it up and grabbed my backpack. The loads of homework that was issued to me got put in my bag before I heard someone come up behind me.

"Ara," The person said. I turned to see Riley, a girl I knew from lacrosse a year younger than me.

"Hey," I smiled.

"Mrs. Dennings wanted me to give this to you," She handed me a note from the main office telling me that someone was picking me up from school. "Just go to the loop at the first bell," she told me, and I nodded.

"Great, thank you," I responded, and she turned to go back to the office.

I threw my bookbag over my back and walked over to Terra and Joey.

"Hey, I'm being picked up today," I told them when I reached the two.

"Today? Who's picking you up?" Joey asked.

"The note says my dad is, but he didn't say anything about it this morning. I guess something just came up," I told them.

"Your still coming to the party though, right?" Terra asked me. I didn't even want to go, I could lie about it and say that my dad and I were going out or something, but then again that would be mean.

"Yeah, I'm still going. Meet you at your house at six?" I asked Terra.

"Yup! Remember, cute clothes," She told me.

"But nothing revealing," Joey added in. He goes all big-brother on me sometimes, but I love him for that.

"Dont worry, dad, I wont," I laughed.

"Oh ha ha ha," He said, doing a little wave with his hands. "I just dont want you to be in any 'risk'," Joey said.

"What about me?" Terra asked him.

"Well I'm not as worried about you considering the last time someone tried to get even a little touchy on you, you punched them in the face," He said.

"Well, dont mess with me," She warned with a smile. I laughed, causing Joey and Terra to start laughing too.

The first bell rang, informing me that it was time to head down the the loop.

'I have to go guys, enjoy the bus without me," I told them.

"The bus sucks without you," Terra whined.

"I think you'll survive," I said as I walked down the hall. There were people all walking with their groups of friends, heading to the busses or down to the loop. Others were headed to the auditorium for drama practice.

When I got to the loop, there was a crowd of people waiting to be picked up by their parents. I walked to one of the benches and sat down, scanning the mass of people for anyone I could talk to.

I didn't see any friends in the crowd, so I decided to see if my dad was here. I took out my phone to call him, but then I saw our black Jeep stand out in the row of cars in line. The weight of my backpack increased as I got up from the bench and trudged to the front of the loop.

My dad pulled up, and I opened the door, looking down to make sure I got in correctly. Every time I get into our car, I manage to somehow hurt myself.

I closed the door and buckled my seatbelt. I turned towards my dad and he looked at me.

But it wasnt my dad.

The man took off out of the loop quickly and I heard the click of the doors locking.

"You- your not my dad," I croaked out, to afraid to talk. My heart started beating quickly.

"No, no I'm not. John, now," he said.

Something hit me in the back of the head, and the world went black.
