"Rick Sanchez. He's the man. He will be the smartest being alive. You have to find him one day."

"When will he be born Mother?" A petite girl with round blue eyes stares up at her mother earnest to learn.

"Not for another couple thousand years my sweet child. But you will live to meet him one day. And perhaps..." The mother brings the child into her lap and strokes her hair affectionately.

"Perhaps what?"

She smiles, the kind of smile that admires the sweet innocence of a child. "Perhaps you'll learn more about the world than we ever could. We may be a smart race of species, but there's never a point where one stops learning. For some reason, some of us felt we've learned enough. That approaching any more knowledge leads to danger. But cowardliness should never be confused with courage. It takes courage to learn. Once you stop that approach- out of fear - you become a coward."

"Mother where has Papa gone?" The child holds onto her mother as she places her in a small metal tube. A strong piece of glass covers the front so a person could look out and see the deep space outside.

The mother sniffles and rubs her eyes. The sirens and panicking of scouring feet now become audible to the child. "Y/n, I want you to know that Papa and Mama are always with you. No matter what happens. No matter where you go you'll never be alone. Don't be afraid. There's always someone out there that will help you."

"Why are you crying, mama?" The girl goes to reach out to her mom. But the mother quickly hugs her instead.

"Listen to me baby, I want you to keep pursuing knowledge. And then share that knowledge with your children. Be better than we were. Build our society from the ground up again. Once the only person left in the universe gives up on knowledge, there's nothing but chaos in the world. Provide a place for refuge."

"Ma-mama?" The child starts to cry realizing the harsh reality coming.

"Your father and I love you very much. And don't forget, if you ever need help, don't be afraid to look for it. Rick Sanchez will be an important figure in the universe soon. Ask him to mentor you if you must. I just want you to know as much as you can. It will protect you as you grow in this twisted world."

The metal container holding the child begins to close. Now mother and child cry harder as they let go of each other. "We love you y/n-" is the last thing your mother says to you as the door closes and seals before accelerating at lightning speed, shooting you as far from the planet as possible. You watch in disbelief as the massive blue planet crumbles in towards the core and immediately explode violently in an outward burst. Sending millions of rocks and debris out into space. Nearly hitting your pod a couple of times. Unable to do anything you drift in space for days before you crash into another planet rather far from your old one.

"Ma-mama? Papa?" Are the only words that you say before passing out of dehydration and starvation. A few hours later an older gentleman and woman pass by and notice the pod. Curious, they go over to it and discover the child inside. They turn to look around for someone who could've abandoned you. But see no one. After examining your pod they realize you're the only survivor of the explosion and bring you into their family. They nurse you back to health and give you everything necessary to grow up.

The old couple were loving and played with you constantly. Whether to keep your mind off of your blown-up planet or just because they loved you - never really occurred to you. Although it may have been a mixture of both. To them, you were the child they'd never been able to have in their younger stages of marriage. It never even seemed to bother them that you hardly aged. But it definitely bothered you; watching people you loved growing older by the years. They were old to start with, so when they died about 7 years later, well, it came as no surprise to anyone. But it was definitely heart-shattering for you. Besides them, you had no one. The local kids often mocked you, threw things, and overall bullied you in extreme ways. You knew they did it because you were different, after all, their race didn't have the powers you had. You could move things with your mind, and you were soon to gain more with age.
