I guess this girl, Summer Smith was rather popular at school. Or at least it seems she was known around. I ended up talking to her for the rest of the period. She seemed nice, very confident of herself. To be honest, I've been so derived of attention that I was happy to talk to anyone. She ended up inviting me to a party she's having tomorrow since her parents will be out of town. Being as old as I am, I felt kind of out of place being at a high school party. So I told her I'd think about it. Not like I was planning on continuing school or seeing these people again. At the end of the day I was leaving my last class. I actually found going to these classes interesting. Or at least entertaining. The earth concept of learning is so twisted. A teacher stands at the front of the class and says something simple like 2+2 and the rest of the class says 4. And when one of them needs to go bathroom they have to ask for permission and get a slip to take a dump. I can definitely see why Earth hasn't developed as fast as other planets.
"Y/n! Y/n, wait!" A younger boy comes running up to me and panting. As if he's been running around looking for me. I was just about to walk out the gates of the school when he shlumps over on his knees to catch his breath. "S-sorry, s-sorry. Give m-me a sec-second please." He takes a minute to recuperate and stands up straight to look at you. "I-I was shouting your name earlier right? I didn't get it wrong?" He was about the same height as me, with short brown hair and a bright yellow shirt. Nothing that really stood out about him, but I guess that's what made him memorable.
Smiling slightly I nod, "yes that's my name. What can I do for you?"
He seems to blush at my smile and stutter slightly. "I-I heard you might g-go to my sister's party tomorrow. S-s-she said you might not go, b-but I just wanted to tell you that you-you're already one of the most popular girls in school. Every-everyone's talking about-.." he pauses awkwardly for a moment. "How pretty.. you are..."
Not really expecting that kind of news I blush a bit myself, yet quickly cover it up with a gleaming smile down at him. He came running all that way to tell me that? "Th-that's cool. Didn't expect that, was just being myself. What's your name, again?"
"O-oh M-m-morty!"
"Morty, if I'm being honest with you, this was my first and only day here. I'm actually-..." I pause. Hesitant to tell him that I'm actually thousands of years old and everything they teach in that school is child's play. Heck I watched the history section of the text books happen.
"You're actually w-what, y/n?" He asks now intrigued.
"Mm...I'm actually...just passing by." I hate that I have to lie. But last thing I want is another person that thinks I'm a freak. "A police officer picked me up and dropped me off here because he thought I was ditching class."
"A-Aw jeez, so does that mean you aren't going to be here tomorrow? E-e-even if you aren't a student here, you're still invited over to our house! It's going to be crazy! Plus you can meet some friends and stay in contact if y-you want." It seems like he really wants you to go. It makes me feel bad for turning him down if I don't.
Nodding slightly, I sigh, "I-I guess I can go. I'm not good with crowds though."
"D-don't worry! I'll be there if you want to hang out with someone more familiar! And if you're worried about adult supervision, my grandpa will be there...he won't really be supervising though...he's having his own party too. But I guess he's good to have around incase something happens."
"Your grandpa lives with you guys?"
"Yeah, but don't worry. He's not too weird. Either way, Summer and I will be there if you want to hang out with us too!"
"Alright, I guess I'll keep that in mind. Thank you Morty. It's been years since I've really gone out and done something for myself. I'll go tomorrow and try to have a good time."
