I was sitting on the floor of the living room in Pedri's house, waiting for him to get home from practice. We'd been together for over a year now and I'm basically living with him at this point.

My mom sent me some photo albums from when I was younger, and I decided now would be a good time to go through some of them.

As I started going through the first one, I heard the front door open. Pedri walks in and leaves his bag by the bottom of the stairs.

"Back so soon?" I ask. He still had at least another hour before he was supposed to be back.  I was worried that maybe he got injured and left early.

"Yeah, something came up and Xavi let us leave early. I'm just gonna take the day off and not question it." He replies, kissing the top of my head and sitting next to me on the floor.

"Oh good, you guys deserve some time off anyways." I say kissing his cheek and going back to looking at the album.

"What is all this?"

"My mom wants to sell the house, get something smaller since it's just her and dad now. She's been clearing things out and sent me some albums from when I was a kid."

"We've been together all this time and I haven't seen many pictures of you as a baby. This is going to be so fun." He says, pulling the album half onto his lap so that he can see it too.

"I swear if you make fun of any of these, I will pull out every embarrassing picture your mom sent me."

"My mom sent you pictures?" His smile drops at the thought.

"Yes, so don't be mean. I will be mean right back." I say with a wide smile.

We start going through each picture one by one.  His reaction to each one was either saying how adorable I looked, or saying I looked absolutely ridiculous.  I can't blame him, I did question some of these myself.

"Oh this is just too cute." He says, taking a picture on his phone, of a picture of me sitting on the front door step holding our new puppy at the time.

I looked really small, I probably wasn't even 2 at the time. I've always been really short, so I looked tiny in the picture.

"I know, I was just the cutest kid ever."

"No hold on I didn't say that now." He replies laughing. "The cutest kid ever is sitting next to you."

"Oh please, I was way more adorable. No question about it."

He immediately gets up and runs off to our bedroom. I mentally slap myself knowing what I just started. He comes back holding an album his mom left here a while back.

"See, this right here. This is the cutest baby ever." He says pointing to a picture.

"Isn't this Fer?" I ask getting a closer look.

"What? No no that's me." He brings the picture closer to his face trying to get a better look. "Oh wait this might be Fer."

We both start laughing and spend more time going through both of our pictures. We begin telling each other stories from our childhood, mostly about when the pictures were taken if we remember.

"Is this the same puppy from that other picture." He point down to a picture of my dog laying down, sprawled out on the grass while I was running towards her.

"Yeah she was the best. Funny story actually..." I start but begin to laugh before I can go on with the story.

"I actually remember this day." I say clearing my throat.

"My cousins came to visit and my aunty always spoiled me, always gave me more sugar than I was allowed. After they left I could not sit still at all. My mom made me go run outside to get rid of some of my energy.  I was running around with my dog until she got tired and just laid down while I was still running around, as you can see here. I didn't see her and right after this was taken I tripped on her leg and faceplanted right in that bush in the garden over there." I say pointing it out.

A smile grows across his face and he fights the urge to laugh. "I'm sorry I feel really bad about laughing but that's really funny," he says and finally gives in. "Did you keep running around after that?"

"Oh no that did it for me. I was done for the day after that tragic incident." I join him in laughing as he continues to make fun of me for it.

We spent over an hour sharing stories and it honestly felt like the closest we've been in a long time.  With work and training and all his games, it's so hard to find time to genuinely connect with one another.

"I take it back actually. We're not the cutest kids." Pedri says as we start packing the albums away.

"Then who is?" I question, slightly scared to hear his answer. "If you even say Gavi, I'm just gonna leave."

"Please, Gavi wouldn't even be top 5." He says laughing as we get up from the floor.

"So who is it?" I question.

"You haven't had them yet."

"Aww," I melt at his words and go to give him a hug.

"We can call a truce." He says, stroking my hair. "I'd say we both tie for second place. But just imagine combining our genes. They'd be untouchable."

"You're right. We would make the most adorable babies." I say, placing a kiss on his lips.

"Can you imagine us having kids one day?" I ask in awe of the future.

"We could try now." He says with a playful smile.

"Nice try, Gonzalez," I say while laughing, gently pushing his chest away.
