I started setting up the drinks on the outside table as everyone started coming in one by one. Today is my roommate, Angela's, 21st and she made sure that we went all out for this one.

She wanted to host a house party and invite everyone in Barcelona. Our small circle of friends gathered early for pre-drinks as we usually do.

"You're gonna wear that tonight?" Pedri asks as he walks up to me, referring to me still wearing my sweatpants and hoodie.

I roll my eyes at his comment as I go over to give him a hug. "I was just getting things set up. I'll change when Ange is done," I say pulling away from him.

Pedri was basically my best friend. We were arguably the closest two in the group. Our relationship was everything a person would want in a best friend. He's always felt like my safe space, the person I could always run to with my problems. But he was also so much of fun to be around at the same time, always trying to make me smile.

Everyone else starts to make their way outside, joining the two of us. I say hi to everyone and soon after, I go upstairs to change.

When I get to my room, there's a dress left on my bed, one of Angela's. We always borrow clothes from each other's closets, but today she insisted on choosing an outfit for me. How could I refuse the birthday girl? And with her taste, I knew it would be good anyway.

I put on the long sleeve black mesh dress and grab a pair of my black heels. I quickly fix my hair and makeup from earlier and give myself one more look in the mirror. The dress is really short for me but it hugs my curves perfectly and the small cut outs of fabric actually covering me, sit just right under the mesh. I might not give this one back to Angela.

"Ready?" A voice asks from the door. I turn around to see Pedri standing there, leaning against the door frame. He looks me up and down and whistles at the sight, a common flirtatious interaction between us.

I nod at him as I fix my dress and get ready to meet everyone downstairs.

"Look, when I commented on your clothes earlier, I didn't mean you had to wear nothing instead," he mocks.

"Shut up, I think it's cute," I reply, holding onto his arm as we walk down the stairs together.

I walk around the room, greeting all the strangers that Ange somehow knows. Anxious from the amount of people walking around our house, I opt to spend most of the evening with Pedri and Gavi while Angela made her rounds, having shots with everyone.

"How does Ange know this many people?" Gavi asks.

The three of us are sitting outside by the pool, half lying down on tanning chairs. None of us are good with big crowds, so we tend to do this all the time.

"I don't know. I guess she just gets out more than we do," I reply, taking a sip of what's left of the drink in my hand.

"Let's play a game," Pedri suggests out of nowhere.

"Please don't say you want to play something dumb like truth or dare," Gavi replies, already laughing at the defeated look on Pedri's face.

"What? No, of course not," he shrugs it off.

"Ange actually has some card games she was saving for later. Let me see what I can get my hands on," I say, getting up to refill my drink as well.

I find the drawer filled with card games and shot glasses. She always has a plan. I grab the first deck that I see and grab the shot glasses and the nearest bottle of vodka.

"I figured we could make this more interesting," I say as I approach the boys, waving the bottle in the air. Ferran, João and Fermin have joined the party and are all sitting around the patio table.
