CHAPTER 26

FORTH'S POV

"Dinner at our house son this coming weekend. Come home. Bring Beam with you."

I took a deep breath and sighed for the ninth time. I admit I am worried. Not for myself but for my Beam. I know that even though we already talked about it, he is still worried about me, about us. I shook my head and smiled. This is why I am not worried about myself because Beam is already doing it for me. And it feels so good to have someone worrying about you.

But in this matter, I don't want Beam to be worried about me. Because no matter what, I would be choosing him, always. He is not just my partner but he is already my family. I already made him my family by words truthfully and legally.

"Yo, what's up Ai'Forth?" Lam placed his lunch on the table and sat on the seat in front of me. Park follows and sat beside me. They both looked at the untouched food of mine.

"The tom yum is good, Ai'Forth." Park commented. "Don't you dare waste food?"

When Lam noticed that I didn't even give a damn about it, he looked at me confused. I decided to take a deep breath and told them my worries.

"My mother wants to have dinner with me and Beam. She wants me to come home this weekend."

"Oh, they already knew about Beam? It's not that weird for me though. Aunt and Uncle adores Beam way before and I believe they still do. They probably just missed Beam and want to welcome him back."

"Oh, Forth's family knew about Beam?" Park asked. Lam nodded. "Every time I go to Forth's house, they always told me about this one certain best friend of Forth that looks like an angel and how it influenced Forth to be a good student."

I sighed. "That's my worry."

Park and Lam both looked at me confused. "Huh?"

"They want to talk to Beam not as my best friend, but as my lover."

"What?!"

"They already knew?!"

I nodded and played with my food. "My mother visited me yesterday and I told her about us, about having Beam as my lover."

"and your worry is?" Lam asked.

"Don't you ever tell me that you couldn't take responsibility for what you did? It is very lousy, lame, and cowardly." Park added.

I glared at him. "I am worried about Beam. I don't want him to leave me. I am confident about myself but Beam is soft-hearted and gentle. Beam always adored my family, you know. I am scared that Beam would leave me if my parents will—" I couldn't continue as I could feel my lips tremble in fear.

Beam already told me that he will be brave and will fight for us but I couldn't help myself. I am so scared that he would leave me again. It is unimaginable.

Park pats my shoulder. "Just believe in him, Forth. Beam loves you so deeply that he still came back to you despite everything that happened between the two of you."

Lam also smiled at me. "Just tell Beam about it and believe in him. He is stronger than you thought."

Taking a deep breath, I leaned on the table. Maybe I really should. Besides, I will do everything so that Beam would never think of leaving me.

I was doing some metalwork for our laboratory. I was in the middle of welding some steel when my phone rang.

I was about to ignore it when I saw who was calling me. It was Mew. My oldest brother. I stopped what I was doing and picked up the call. "Hello, P'?"

"Anything you want to tell me, little brother?"

I rolled my eyes when I heard the sarcasm in his voice. "You already know."

I heard my brother hiss. "What the heck did you do? I didn't cover you up all these past years just for this."

Yes, my oldest brother knows what I have been doing for the past years. All the good and the bad, all the legal and not-so-illegal.

"Don't worry, P'Mew. That help of yours will not get in vain."

Mew sighed. He already knew that I'd already made up my mind. "Well, you are already a grown-up. I just called to tell you congratulations. Congratulations that finally you've already found your paradise."

I smiled. "Thank you, bro."

"Now, clean up your slate and start anew. Repent on your doings in the past so you won't make the same mistake again." He said before dropping the call.

I worked hard for this. I will not let all of these go to waste.

I was waiting at the parking lot of the Faculty of Medicine when I saw Beam and his friends walking their way to their car. Beam saw me and walked towards me while smiling widely.

"Hey, babe." I held his waist with one hand and let him kiss me on the lips. Just a peck though.

I heard Phana and Kit scoff. "Show-off."

Beam just winked at them with tease and gets on my bike. I waved my hand goodbye to them and started the engine.

Before I drove, I asked Beam where he wants to eat dinner. He embraced me from the back. "Some ramen would do."

We are now in Beam's favorite ramen shop, eating his favorite ramen. I can see that he is enjoying eating and I am contemplating whether to tell him about Mom or not. Maybe this is not a good time as it may ruin his palate.

Beam noticed that I was barely eating. He looked up and asked me. "Forth, you're not eating. Are you okay?"

I looked at him while biting my lower lips. Should I tell him?

I think he sensed that I have some worry as he put his chopsticks down and smiled at me. "You have something to tell me, isn't it?"

I sighed. I guess I have to tell him now. It's now or never, anyway. "Mom texted me." I could feel him tense. I looked into his eyes and smiled. "She wants me to come home this weekend. He also wants you to come."

His mouth slowly opened wide. "But today is Friday." I nodded.

"Auntie wants us to go to your house tomorrow?"

"Yes." Beam suddenly went silent. I took his hand on the table and held it tightly. I bit my lips in fear that Beam might take a step back in our relationship.

"Beam."

His eyes met mine and slowly smiled. "I guess it is about time." I couldn't help but be stunned. He chuckled warmly. "You think I will back out and refuse to go home with you?"

I nodded honestly.

He took a deep breath and directly look at me with eyes full of understanding. "Love, I know many things happened between us. But when I accepted you again in my life, I truly meant that. Past, present, and even the future that awaits us, I already accepted with open arms and enthusiasm. With you by my side. Fear or without fear."

His fingers intertwined with mine. "Thank you for introducing me to your mother as your partner in life. I feel appreciated."

I his hand to my lips and kissed it dearly. "You deserve all the best things in my world. And I will do everything to make sure you will have it all."

He gave me a quick peck on my cheek and continued eating.

Seeing him this close to me right now, being able to feel his touches and warmth. I know I am on the right track in my life. Right then and there, I solidify my will and my faith to make Beam mine from this day forward.

He is my all. I will make sure he fits all the bits, corners, and spaces of my being and world.

"Are we all set?" Beam comes out of our building with a backpack. We only pack lightly as we don't know what will happen when we get home.

I nodded. I took the bag from him and put it in the trunk.

"Thank you for coming with me, Beam."

"I will always come to you, with you."
