"What's your name?" A lady behind the helpdesk asks, eyeing you from head to toe by peaking just above her glasses.
"Deji, Kim- uh... Jeon Deji," you say. "I'm here to see mr Choi. I called yesterday to apply for a job a-"
"Mhmm, yeah..." she sighs. "Mr Choi isn't available right now, so I suggest you come back another time."
"What? One of his assistants told me he'd be available and open for a conversation at this time," you say. "I literally have an appointment with him right now."
"I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but you need to reshedule the appointment."
She doesn't sound sorry at all. I'm wasting my time here...
"Fine. When does mr Choi have time?" You ask.
"Uhm..."
A long silence follows. The lady is squinting her eyes at the computer screen as she looks for an empty spot in her boss his shedule. "Mr Choi has time for you july 28th," she says.
"July 28th? But that... But that's a whole month from now?" You look at her in shock.
"Mr Choi barely has any time, miss Jeon. I suppose you have to wait a month for his attention. Is that a problem?"
"Of course it's a problem!" You blurt out, but you instantly gather yourself. "I'm sorry but I'm looking for a job because I want to get back to work quickly. I can't wait a whole month for a job that isn't even secured. He might reject me."
"Yeah... I can't help you much more, miss Jeon. Have a nice day."
You don't even thank her or wish her a nice day and walk out of the building. You walk to the black car parked in a lot, the engine still running. You open the door and sit down in the passenger seat.
"And? Did you get the job?" Jungkook asks, waiting for you to put on your seatbelt before he drives off.
"Mr Choi wasn't available."
"Huh? I thought you made an appointment with him," Jungkooks looks at you in confusion for just a second or two, before his focis is back on the road and it's traffic.
"I thought so too. I guess he's just a busy man," you sigh.
"When does he have time for a new appointment? Somewhere next week?"
