(Readers POV)
You stepped into the crowded room, heavy bass reverberating underneath the soles of your shoes. Colored lights flashed all around you as you gazed into the ground, eyes searching for your tall, curly haired friend. You spotted him by the bar grabbing two shots and carefully made your way towards him, pushing gently past people. The tequila shot he handed you burned on its way down as you threw your head back, grimacing slightly at the taste.
You'd done your best to remain mostly sober, but allowed yourself the freedom to indulge every once in awhile at a societal event. Tonight had been such one such occasion; Shawn's bachelor party, and you'd been invited along with a few of his other friends.
Brian threw an arm around you suddenly, the unexpected force making your body lurch forward in surprise.
"Heyy, Y/n! You made it!" He slurred, resting his entire body weight against your frame.
You laughed as you held him up with one arm, taking his empty cup from his hand and beckoning for the bartender to fill it with water.
"Of course, I wouldn't miss celebrating the last night of Shawn's freedom." You thew a wink towards the brunette who rolled his eyes at you playfully.
Brian let out an obnoxious, drunk laugh and grabbed his now full cup, gulping down half it's contents within seconds. You grinned, knowing that rehydrating your new friend was the only way he'd wake up somewhat coherent the next morning.
The party had been in full swing for awhile by the time you and Shawn made your way to the center of the dance floor. You weren't typically the partying type, but tonight you felt like letting loose.
Four shots and a cocktail later, you were still jumping to the loud music with your friends, the alcohol giving you a high you hadn't felt in ages. A small 'thump' made your admittedly horrid dance moves pause as you turned to apologize to whomever you had bumped into. Your face morphed into a wide grin when you caught sight of familiar emerald eye peering up at you.
"Lauren Jauregui. Fancy meeting you here." You leaned in to give her a tight hug, catching a whiff of her intoxicating perfume.
"Y/n, hey! It's been such a long time! I haven't seen you since Coachella, like 5 years ago." Her lips curved up into a heart stopping smile sending a wave of warmth through your stomach.
You weren't sure if it was the alcohol or the fact that you'd been celibate for an ungodly amount of time, but you could feel the blood begin to rush downwards as Lauren rested her hand innocently on your forearm.
"Yeah, it's been too long. How are you?" You had to yell over the music, sweaty bodies still jumping all around the two of you.
Lauren grasped your arm tighter and tugged until you lowered your ear down to her lips, "I've been good! Do you want to take this outside where we can actually hear?"
You chucked, nodding as you took her hand and the two of you headed to the front entrance of the club. The rush of cool air hit your face and you almost sighed in relief, the sweat on your face drying almost instantly.
"Now that I can actually hear you, how have you been? Are you and Camila still together?" Lauren smiled softly.
Your heart clenched, but not as tightly this time as you shook your head, "No, we broke up a long time ago. But it's okay. I've moved on."
You tried giving her your most convincing smile, but one look into her green eyes told you that she didn't buy it. But Lauren was never one to push, so she simply nodded.
"I'm sorry, I know that must've been tough for you." She spoke quietly, almost as if she were afraid to offend you.
"It was, but life goes on." You said trying to sound nonchalant as you crossed your arms, "Anyways, how's Ty?"
