In a distant region, very distinct from where you might be reading this from, was a man sprinting across a murky woods, running desperately and endlessly, he longs to keep up, for he had to reach his destination, and he must persevere no matter what. He could hear the audible cacophony of the fires crackling from a village in close proximity, swords were heard clashing, villagers were obviously weeping and screaming in terror and agony, begging for mercy, begging for the horrors to seize.
He did not want to look behind, he must focus on the path set ahead of him, instantaneously, a voice of an old woman strikes him, "Gavin... take this, t-take this stone with you!, They are here, they knew!" as the sounds of his dear Grandmother echoes in his head, "Hurry up and seek the five warriors, they are our only hope now, leave us here, depart! we'll buy you some time, now go", the flashbacks ended with an audible voice of his Grandmother.
Tears rolling down his cheeks, the terrible cold pain in his chest and the grief that he's feeling is immense, knowing that he had to leave his family and the village. But he has a purpose, he has a mission, and that mission is to reach the mountain shrine and summon the ones who will save them, for it is their only hope, and so that his grandmother's sacrifice shall not go to waste. He must not give up, not now.
Rain began pouring heavily and it darkness began enveloping the surroundings, but he kept running, until a man emerged in his path ahead, "Dwade, what are you doing here?", the man asked the stranger who happens to be a friend of his, he approached the man but the man quickly snapped in anger, "HOW SELFISH COULD YOU BE, GAVIN!", Dwade yells with rage as he pulls out his sword and points it at Gavin, "Abandoning the town, your grandmother, your wife, my family!, Just for this nonsense of a myth that isn't even proved to be real!" Dwade yelled in frustration. Thunder rumbles, blinding lightning flashes bright, revealing the nearby trees, as rain pours heavily than ever.
"This is the only hope that can help us resolve this, to finally end this never-ending war Dwade", Gavin explains. "Your guess is as good as mine!, This so called "prophecy" is nothing but a telltale myth, created to lift the people's spirits and give them a sense of hope... Hope that would only result their deaths." Dwade says with the look of disgust for Gavin.
"Then you're wrong",
"What was that?"
"I SAID YOU'RE WRONG"
"We'll see about that"Dwade smites him with his blade but Gavin swiftly dodges it. He has no choice but to pull out his own sword, his only form of self defense, "You leave me no choice, Gavin", he uttered, "I do not wish to hurt you", as thunder rumbles once more. "Give me the stone, I know you have it, give it to me now and I'll leave you unharmed", Dwade trying to persuade him.
"Then you leave me no choice.", Gavin quickly thrusts his sword towards Dwade but misses, instead Dwade got an opportunity to slash him at the shoulders, cutting him, blood dripping from his sleeves were seen crimson red, he could feel the sharp stinging pain on the cut.
"You were like a brother to me Dwade..."
"Give me the stone, it is what they've been longing for, it's the only way they'll leave us alone", Dwade puffs in a moment of fury, "I'm going to take that from you by force even if it costs me my life", he added.
"Over - my dead - body ", Gavin says with full confidence, Dwade tries to end it once and for all by stabbing him with his sword, but this time Gavin gets an opportunity to attack his leg, disabling him in the process. "GAH!, You wretched piece of rubbish!", he exclaimed as blood was pouring all over the mud under the rain. "AHH, GET BACK HERE AT ONCE!", he quickly secures the stone inside the pocket of his cloak and runs away as fast as he could, all while bearing the pain.
After a half hour travel he finally arrived on the top of the hill, opened the gates, and lit up a torch, he saw three statues and another two behind them. He walked gently towards it and stopped after seeing a circular pattern on the stone floor, shaped exactly like the stone his grandmother gave him. At this point he knows what to do, although he doesn't know what will happen, if it will work, if it really is just a myth, or perhaps if the stone is the right one for it.
But there's only one way to find out, "Here goes nothing ", he says as he places the stone on the platform. Bracing for what comes for him. Instantaneously out of nowhere the temple walls begins deforming, the stone floor cracking, torches on the walls begun to light up, everything was shaking afterwards, so many events was taking place that it was hard to keep track of what was happening to the structure, and in an instant there was a loud booming BANG.
