Jesse, Charles and Logan watch the news playing on the TV.

"All around the world, borders are being closed, police are on the lookout for the creatures we saw in Paris, and others like them. A few have been discovered, and taken into custody for questioning." The reporter said as images of mutants being rounded up across the world.

"Exactly as Erik feared..." Charles muttered.

"Here in the US, the administration will make a statement on the steps of Congress tomorrow. President Nixon will address the press, along with Defense Secretary Laird and a top biological scientist, Dr Bolivar Trask." The reporter said, standing in front of the Congress.

Charles sits back, quiet. "We've given him the stage he needs."

"What he needs is sitting in her room down the hall." Logan said.

Charles looks at the TV, images of mutants rounded up. He darkens, struggling to hold onto hope. "What if... whatever we do to change the course of history... it all ends the same way?"

Jesse and Logan stays quiet, not having the answers he needed.

Charles turns, leaving the room.

Logan looks back at the TV.

"Sources at the White House say the President will reveal a new weapon for combating this threat."

Jesse sighed, rubbing his face with his hand.

"Losing your hope?" Logan asked, placing his hands on Jesse's hips and turning him around to look at him.

Jesse looked up at Logan, a small smile on his lips. "No, I need to have hope for them."

"You're still too young to be saying stuff like that." Logan said, placing his forehead against Jesse.

"Yeah, and you've taken this young man virginity." Jesse said, opening his eyes when he heard a small chuckles coming out of the man in front of him.

"That's different." Logan said, a cocky smile playing on his lips.

Jesse moved his head from Logan, rolling his eyes playfully. "Oh, is it now?" He asked, placing his hands on Logan's shoulders as he pulled them closer.

"I don't know." Logan said, leaning his head down. "Might have to repeat them to know." He said making Jesse chuckles, pulling away from Logan.

Jesse turned around, a smile playing on his lips as he quickly walked away. "You might have to catch me first." He said over his shoulder as he quickly run away from Logan to his room, hearing Logan's slow footsteps behind him making him smile, knowing that Logan catch up to him easily.

Logan takes a huge gasp as he snaps awake. He looks down at Jesse who was startled awake by his gasps. "Sorry." He muttered, rising up from the bed, gathering his senses.

"Don't worry about it." Jesse said, rising up from the bed and taking his clothes from the floor when he and Logan heard footsteps pounding down the hall.

Jesse and Logan goes out the door to see Hank, moving quickly down the hall, clearly troubled.

"Hank... Hank? What's going on?" Logan asked, having put on his clothes as well, as he and Jesse trails after Hank, who pushes through the door to Charles's office.

Hank enters making Charles looks up, immediately sensing the troubles.

"She's gone." Charles said, looking up at the three.

The door to the Cerebro opens, Charles wheelchair rolling in, with Jesse, Hank and Logan behind him. They go to the Cerebro and saw that it is destroyed.

Hank tried to turn on the power, but it's dead, wires still sparking.

Charles looks around, turning to Jesse and Logan who is talking with each other using their face. "We can't track her now." He said, bringing their attention to him.

"We know where she'll be." Logan said as Hank and Charles looked at Jesse and him.

"Washington." Jesse said, nodding at Logan. "Trask will be there. Out in the open. That's where she'll make her move."

Charles nods. "In front of the whole world." He said, voice quiet.

"Hank, get the jet ready." Logan said, expecting the man to move but he stayed still.

"What if Erik's there?" Hank asked.

"I'll take care of Erik. Just get the jet." Logan said.

Hank shakes his head. "It's made of Metal. If he sees us in that thing, he could crush it like a tin can."

Logan sighed, nodding. "Fine. I'll drive. Five minutes, outside."

"Things will change." Logan said, breaking Charles out of his thoughts as Charles looks back at him. "After today, the future is gonna be different." He said, taking a step closer to Charles. "But I want you to promise me something. No matter what happens today. Promise me one thing won't change..."

Charles looks at Logan, not sure where this is going.

"The X-Men. You put us together. We were a good group. Cyclops, Storm, Jean... Jesse. We went through a lot together, so... you'll do that, yeah, you'll find us again?"

Charles considers, the weight of that responsibility. "I'll do my best."

"That'll be enough." Logan said, tapping the wall. "Let's go."
