DUST AND RUBBLE LAID EVERYWHERE. Smoke was emitting from the places where explosions had taken place, the last explosion being the one that had killed one of the very own mutants by Sebastian Shaw himself. The sun was now bright as it shined down on the many people in the many countries around the world, a few hours having gone by for the surviving people in the facility after Shaw and his own mutants on his side, killing one of the good guys along the way of breaking into the facility.

Darwin was now dead, having been killed by Sebastian Shaw himself when the dark skinned man had tried to trick them into thinking he'd go with them, only for it to backfire on him. The group of mutants could be seen sitting outside of the burnt down facility when a frantic voice called out to his daughter's name. Looking up from where she had been leaning against Raven, Y/n's eyes widened at the sight of her turn jogging over the corner. Charles' eyes widened in relief at the sight of his girl, rushing over before lifting her up in her arms.

No one said a thing as the father and daughter held each other tightly while Raven joined their sides, hugging Charles a bit before the telepath turned back to his little girl. He moved some of her strands of hair out of the way, cupping the side of her face to make sure that she was okay. When she placed her head on his shoulder, small arms wrapping around his neck and shoulders more tightly, Charles tightened his arms around her much smaller figure, not wanting to let go one bit as he looked at the other mutants.

"We've made arrangements for you to be taken home immediately." Charles speaks up, looking at Alex and Sean.

Sean shakes his head. "We're not going home. He's not going back to prison."

"He killed Darwin." Alex adds, tone full of anger.

"All the more reason for you to leave." Charles fires back. "This is over."

Raven frowns. "Darwin's dead, Charles. And we can't even bury him."

"We can avenge him." Erik blurts out.

His words had everyone snapping their heads up to face him, the younger ones having hope in their eyes as they wondered if they could actually avenge their friend's death. Charles let out a sigh, claiming to need a word with Erik as he tried to put his daughter down. However, Y/n refused to let go, keeping her arms around him as Charles had no other choice but to bring her with him as he spoke with Erik. The two men had their backs facing the others now, a few feet away.

"They're just kids." Charles whispers.

Erik shakes his head. "No. They were kids. Shaw has his army, we need ours."
