Mono stepped out of his car as he looked upon the sight of his families old home.

It wasn't too far away from the city but enough to not have to hear much if any noise.

It was a 2 story house that looked pretty normal from the outside for the most part, and nothing too out of the ordinary from what he remembered.

As he walked up to the door he paused looking at the lock around the knob not really surprised at seeing it as no one had lived here for some time now as far as he knew.

he continued to walk and look around the front of the house just taking the time to appreciate old memories as he did.

Unbeknownst to him however there was a camera hidden on one of the branches of a nearby tree in the front yard as it homed in and watched mono walk around the house.

Mono continued to study the house not really able to do anything else as the lock on the door was what prevented him from going inside.

He looked at the time to see that it had just hit 2pm now.

"I suppose I should head back for the time being I geuss...."

He turned to leave the area heading back to his car before he suddenly heard a click sound and a thud causing him to pause.

He turned and looked back to the front porch of the house confused for a moment before noticing that the heavy lock around the doorknob had somehow unlocled itself and fell off the doorknob hitting the floor beneath it.

Mono looked on in deep confusion as he looked around the area for a moment not seeing anyone around but himself.

Cautiously he approached the door before reaching and touching it as it opened right up with barely any force.

"What the hell....?" Mono thought as he looked into the house from outside the front door.

Slowely against his better judgment.. he entered.

Mono cautiously proceeded to walk around the house on its first floor not really finding anything else strange other than the door unlocking on its own.

After a bit he walked up the stairs after just checking the kitchen.

After getting to the second floor he proceeded to look into the main bedroom.

Again he didn't find anything out of the ordinary. just a room void of any of its furniture.

"Hmmm." Mono said to himself before turning and leaving to check one final place.

Mono paused as he looked at the door leading into his old room from his younger days.

He slowely breathed in as he pushed the door open to look inside.

As he looked he expected to see an empty room just like all the room before and he was mostly right accept for one small detail.

In the center of the room there was a Tophat laying on the floor completely out of place compared to everything else.

As he looked at it he reached and picked it up examining it.

"How did this get here???" Mono thought as he looked at the spot where it was laying.

He paused again as he saw a small hole in the floor barely noticable with all the carpet nearly covering it.

"A keyhole?" He thought as he pulled the key he found in the picture frame from before.

He then pressed the key into the keyhole and turned it finding that it was a perfect fit.

Just as he did this the floor opened up as it turned into a set of stairs leading down from his room towards an unseen part of the first floor of the house he noticed. Then it continued to go deeper below.
