"He looks good doesn't he?" Rory asks as Mom comes into the room.

"He looks good" She agrees.

"I like his hair shorter"

"Shorter's nice" 

"Do you think he'll stay long?" Rory asks. 

"Wouldn't bet a lot of money on it" I scoff. 

"Hadie" Mom sighs wanting me and my father to get along. 

"Whatever just don't get too attached" I say to Rory running upstairs. 

I go into my room and quickly dial Tristian's number. 

"Hey" He says answering. 

"Hi" I say my voice cracking a little.

"Hades, what's wrong?" He asks immediately concerned. 

"My dad showed up today" I tell him. 

"Ah" He says. "Do you need me to come over?" 

"No, I don't know" I sigh. "Rory is so happy running around making plans for him to meet Dean tomorrow morning"

"How about I come tomorrow morning?" He suggests. "Maybe hold you back from swinging at your own father"

"Yeah that sounds good" I nod.

"You gonna be okay?" He asks. 

"Probably not" I chuckle. "I just hate that he shows up out of nowhere and expects to be my dad again"

"I know you do" 

"I should try to be civil though, right for Rory?" I ask him. 

"I don't know what to tell you babe, with his track record he'll probably be gone soon" Tris reminds me. 

"Yeah" 

Dad comes out of the bathroom and open my partially closed door giving me a wave. 

"You coming downstairs?" he asks. 

"Um, yeah I'll be right down" I nod. "I gotta go" 

"Okay I'll see you tomorrow?" Tris asks. 

"Yeah see you tomorrow" I hang up and see dad waiting for me outside my door. 

"Hadie I just want to-"

"Don't" I say simply. 

I run downstairs and sit on the ottoman by the side couch mom is sitting on. 

"That is the worst shower I've had, water pressure keeps changing every two seconds, I'm fixing it tomorrow" He says. 

I remind myself to breathe, not yell at him for stepping in an acting like everything is absolutely fine, like he can just start fixing showers like a father, for Rory's sake. 

"Hey, you stay away from my shower" Mom tells him. 

"We ordered Chinese food it should be here in a minute" Rory tells him. 

"Good, I'm starving"

"Here" Mom says handing him a cup of coffee.

"Hey, how is Diane?" Rory asks. 

"Uh, Diane is ancient history" He tells us. 

"When I met her at Easter you said she could be the one" Rory reminds him.

"Mhm the one to be gone by memorial day" 

"You're worse than mom" I chuckle. 

"Low blow" She says.
