"And that's it for centre this morning. Thanks for joining us. Let's hand off now to Liz, at the news desk."

"Alright, thank you, Donna. Turning now to the local news, we're getting reports of surges and power outages all across the county. Last night, hundreds of homes in East Hawkins were affected, leaving many residents in the dark. The cause of the outage is still unknown. We reached out to the Roane County Water and Electric, and a spokesperson says that they are confident power will be restored to all remaining homes within the next several hours."

The news lady, Donna, continued as a dog began barking, waking up a brunette man who was currently sleeping on his couch. He sighed heavily at the sight of the morning sun and checked his watch to see he was quite late.

He let out a frustrated groan as he heaved himself off of the couch. He stumbled out of his living room and outside as he lit a cigarette and inhaled it deeply. His jeans weren't zipped up, he didn't have a shirt on and he also had no shoes or socks on.

He returned back inside once he had finished his cigarette and he clambered into the shower, cleaned himself up and brushed his teeth before smoking another cigarette, opening a can of beer and taking a pill.

He then made his way back to his bedroom and got dressed into his uniform. Chief of police, that's who he was. He grabbed his hat and keys before wandering out of the door and towards his car.

"In other news, you might wanna stay home tonight or at least pack an umbrella. We turn to everybody's favourite morning weather guys, Charles." Donna announced on the tv with a smile.

"Where are they? Johnathan?" Joyce yelled as she frantically ran around the house searching for her keys. "Check the couch!" Johnathan replied as he continued making scrambled eggs in the kitchen.

"Ugh, I did! Oh...got them!" Joyce responded as she held up her keys so her son could see them. "Okay, sweetie, I will see you tonight." Joyce kissed her sons head and rubbed his shoulder lightly and a small grin tugged at Johnathan's lips. "Yeah, see you later."

"Where's Will?" Joyce questioned looking around the kitchen curiously. "Oh, I didn't get him up yet. He's probably still sleeping." He replied as Joyce sighed. "Johnathan, you have to make sure he's up!" "Mom, I'm making breakfast."

"I told you this a thousand times. Will!" She clapped her hands as she made her way towards Will's bedroom. "Come on, honey. It's time to get up." She opened his door only to see that he wasn't inside, his room was completely empty. "He came home last night, right?"

Joyce asked her eldest son as she wandered towards the kitchen. "He's not in his room?" Johnathan asked and Joyce shrugged. "Did he come home or not?" "I don't know."

"You don't know?" Joyce snapped slightly, sounding more concerned now. "No. I got home late, I was working." Johnathan stammered slightly as he set the scrambled eggs on the table. "You were working?"

"Eric asked if I could cover, I said yeah. I just thought we could use the extra cash." Johnathan shrugged once again and Joyce sighed. "Johnathan, we've talked about this." "I know, I know."

"You can't take shifts when I'm working!" Joyce exclaimed slightly as Johnathan grabbed a knife and fork and set them out on the table. "Mom, it's not a big deal. Look, he was at the Wheeler's all day. I'm sure he just stayed over or something like that."

"I can't believe you." Joyce exhaled lightly. "I can't believe you sometimes." Joyce repeated as she made her way over to the phone as she risked the Wheeler's house number.
