There were no open cases for the team to solve, so - until they got a call from Hotch - their weekend was free. All Y/N had been told was that she was being taken to a nice restaurant, so she should dress nice. That was all the information she needed to be excited. Alyssa had helped Y/N pick out an outfit perfect for going out to a restaurant. Spencer had asked her to bring her outfit to work on Friday, because the date was going to happen on the Friday night, so they'd have the whole weekend to themselves.
So, on Friday afternoon, Y/N sat at her desk in the BAU bullpen, her outfit tucked neatly into the white bag that resided next to her. She kept the bag away from Spencer, not wanting him to see what she had planned to wear. As for Spencer, he had gotten help from his girlfriend to find a nice outfit. She found a blazer that she'd never seen him wear. He wore a nice pair of black suit pants and a white shirt with his signature light purple tie. Of course, his socks were mismatched. He wouldn't be Spencer Reid if his socks weren't mismatched.
"Ooh. What's in the white bag?" Penelope asked as Y/N looked away from her paperwork.
"An outfit." Y/N admitted.
"For what? What occasion has Y/N bringing an outfit to work in a bag?" Prentiss joined in on the conversation, smiling.
"It's nothing "special" per-se. It's just an outfit." Y/N smiled.
Without warning, Penelope lifted the bag off the floor and moved away from Y/N so she couldn't take the bag away from her.
"This isn't just any outfit! This is a nice dress with a pair of heels and a purse! This is an outfit that someone might wear on a date!" Penelope giggled.
"Who's going on a date?" Derek asked, confused. He had just walked into the bullpen.
"Y/N is!" Prentiss smiled.
"Wow, okay. Who's the lucky man or woman?" Derek asked, already knowing the answer.
"If you must know, I'm going on a blind date. Someone that my friend Alyssa set me up with." Y/N lied. Her true date was currently in Hotch's office.
"A blind date! How mysterious. Let us know how it goes. Tell us who it is, what they do and everything else!" Prentiss chuckled.
"Has anyone seen Spencer?" JJ asked as she walked into the bullpen.
"Not since he walked into Hotch's office this morning." Y/N admitted.
Just then, Spencer exited Hotch's office, exhaling. Everyone turned to look at him, all of them shocked. Spencer's outfit was different. He wasn't dressed like he normally was. He was dressed to impress. A smile appeared on Y/N's face, seeing the shocked expressions on her co-workers faces.
"Damn, Spence. You look good." JJ smiled.
"Thank you, JJ." Spencer nodded.
"Hold up. What's with the sudden change in outfit? None of us have ever seen you wear that blazer. That shirt you're wearing is whiter than Prentiss' teeth and we haven't seen you wear that tie in years." Derek stopped Spencer, who exhaled.
"He's dressed to impress. I think he's got a date." Penelope suggested.
"Will everyone stop assuming that my sudden change in behaviour and clothes is because of a girl? Is it such a stretch that I just want to change my look? Maybe I'm sick of looking nerdy, or like a teacher's assistant. Maybe I just want to look my age." Spencer defended himself.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I think your new look suits you. It makes you look more like an FBI Agent now." Prentiss smiled.
"Thank you." Spencer smiled, feeling happy that at least one of his co-workers liked his outfit because it suited him and not because he was trying to impress someone. Although, he was. His outfit was picked by his girlfriend, because she liked the way it looked on him.
"Pretty boy. Calm down. You look good. We're not denying that. All we're saying is that if someone has slightly influenced you to change your look, then that's great! If not, that's great as well!" Derek had a suspicion that it was Y/N who picked out Spencer's outfit. As much as he wanted to believe in Spencer's sudden desire to look his own age, his outfit change was probably a result of his girlfriend.
The urge that Derek felt to tell the rest of the team about what he had seen was huge. Every time he watched Y/N and Spencer enter the bullpen either together or just after each other, he wanted to say something. He wanted to wink at them or let them know that he knew they were together, but didn't. He knew about their relationship by figuring it out. He wasn't told. Just seeing them interact together made Derek want to reveal their relationship to the rest of the team, but he knew it wouldn't be fair. It was their relationship, so they should have the choice to reveal it to the team.
Spencer, choosing to ignore his co-workers, instead focused on the time. His dinner reservation with Y/N was for 6:30 PM. It was currently 5:15 PM. They had agreed to meet at her car by 6:10. Y/N had asked Hotch for permission to leave early as long as no cases popped up. He agreed, considering Y/N always got her paperwork done and handed to him early. She planned to get change at 5:50, before leaving work to meet Spencer at her car. Then, Spencer would leave the office at 6 PM, arriving at her car by 6:10.

By 6:10, both Spencer and Y/N were in her car, heading to the restaurant. She had no idea where she was going. Spencer was giving her directions. Every time she looked at Spencer, her excitement grew. They both looked amazing and neither one of them could wait for their first official date as a couple.
Soon enough, they had arrived at the restaurant. They were quickly seated and handed menus.
"Do you think anyone knows about us? I mean, we're surrounded by profilers every day." Y/N asked, looking at her handsome boyfriend.
"If any of them knew about us, they would've said something." Spencer smiled. It was unlike the team to discover something and not say anything.
